Desperate Housewives: Season 4 Promotional Picture...

The cast of Desperate Housewives have unveiled a red hot new look to promote the show's fourth season.

Marcia Cross, Nicollette Sheridan, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria and Felicity Huffman are pictured strutting out of a firey blaze looking flawlessly bronzed and lean, thanks to some heavy-handed airbrushing.

The picture (above) sees the five ladies of Wisteria Lane in the most air-brushed and overly-theatrical poses. There’s too much cleavage and legs and has the housewives dressed so cheaply as to suggest a whole new kind of desperation.

Brothers & Sisters: Patricia Wettig talks on the show...

Thanks to National Ledger for the following...

Multi-Emmy-winning actress Patricia Wettig reveals her character on ABC's hit drama "Brothers & Sisters" will be even more of a thorn in Sally Field's side when the series returns Sept. 30. Wettig's character, Holly, was the mistress of Sally's character Nora's late husband -- and is the mother of their illegitimate daughter -- in case you didn't know.

In the new season, Holly will be enjoying some newfound prosperity, thanks to an inheritance and the fact that her wine business with Nora's son Tommy (Balthazar Getty) is taking off.

***

"Now that I have this money I begin to wield a little power," notes Wettig. "My character is a little more complex." She points out, "One of the interesting things about a series is that they can pull out a new card and hand it to you. You, as an actor, don't always have all the cards."

Granted, her husband, Ken Olin, is an exec producer of the show, their son, Cliff Olin, is one of the writers, their daughter, Roxy, has a recurring role in the show -- and the role of Holly was written specifically for Wettig. Though it's good to be the queen, Wettig makes it clear she's not one to wield her power. "I never feel like I want to use that card," she says. "People assume that because I've got Ken's ear and Cliff's ear, which I do, that they're working it for me, and that isn't really true.

***

I was worried about something the other day and I said something to Ken at home, and he said, 'You better call them and get into it because everybody else does. The other cast members are always coming to the writing room and having meetings.' People assume because I have dinner with Ken that somehow I'm covering my bases, but that's not what we talk about that often. I have to stand up for myself and go in there as much as anybody else on the more professional level."

A FEW DEGREES LIGHTER: Kevin Bacon says he's ready to go for some lighter fare after playing the vigilante in "Death Sentence," opening today (8/31), and the currently shooting "Taking Chance," in which he plays a volunteer military escort officer accompanying the body of a slain soldier to his hometown.

However, he says, "Sometimes it's hard to really control that, and it's a combination of two things. One is those are the things that seem to be coming to me now, and also I have to take a certain amount of responsibility for the fact that I seem to be drawn to these roles that are emotional challenges at this point. The last three or four things I've done and the kinds of characters and films I'm finding myself in seem to be what's supposed to be happening in my life for a reason -- and who knows if there'll be another chapter in my life where I can lighten things up a little bit, but that doesn't seem to be my work right now."

Bacon says he's "very happy" with the way "Death Sentence" came out. "It's a very visceral and emotional kind of film," he says. "One of the things I like about it is even though my character is a hero, he's a reluctant hero. He's really a fish out of water who doesn't know how to fight or use a gun." He admits playing such intense characters "does definitely catch up to you. When you wrap on a Friday and you know you have to go back on a Monday, it's sort of hard to completely walk away from it for the weekend, but I think I'm really good at the end of the movie about letting it go."

THE VIDEOLAND VIEW: With their New York-based syndicated "Morning Show With Mike and Juliet" expanding into new markets across the country next month, are hosts Juliet Huddy and Mike Jerrick doing anything special to prepare?

"Mike has been drinking a lot, and I'm shaving my legs right now," answers Juliet. But seriously, the duo admits that their show's first six months turned out to be a useful shakedown period. "There was a point when we started getting a little wacky, tabloidy-Jerry Springerish. There was a shift in the producing staff, with different ideas about what the show should be. They brought in a hypnotist one day. I hate hypnotists. I kept thinking, 'Please, make this end.' It was definitely not our speed," she says.

What is their speed? "What people are talking about today -- the water cooler talk. We're definitely topical," she says -- whether the topic is pedophiles, what's hot on TV and film, goofy stunts, celebrity interviews or sex. Sex gets a lot of attention on their show, and they won't be toning anything down.

"What we talk about is maybe a little edgy," admits Mike, "but people discuss these things hanging out at home. Sometimes we go over the line a little bit, but it's not like we're big perverts."

DON'T MENTION IT: Judge Lynn Toler reports that between her MyNetwork TV "Decision House" and her syndicated "Divorce Court," "My first real break won't be until the second week of October." But she's not complaining about the load of having two shows, even though she commutes to L.A. for production from the Phoenix home she shares with her husband, an accountant, and their two sons. "My husband is good about it. He's been really supportive. If something goes wrong at the house and I'm out of town, he never tells me."

Grey's Anatomy: TV Review, Living TV, (old)??...

Thanks to TV scoop for this...

A three-part story arc seems a little odd for a TV show, with extended story-lines ordinarily playing out over two episodes. Not that I’m complaining (wait for that later) when it involves the epic crashing of a ferry in Grey’s Anatomy. Last week the interns (barring a grumpy Cristina) were sent to the harbour to save as many of the victims injured in the disaster as possible, but found themselves a bit out of their depth (if you’ll pardon the pun). All except Meredith who was sent crashing into the murky depths by a patient. Would she be found and saved?

Cristina asked after her and Shepherd was desperately trying to find her but the only one who knew the fate of Meredith wasn’t talking. The blonde girl, who had followed her until her unexpected dip had remained mute since the accident and was unwilling and/ or unable to verbally communicate with a worried McDreamy. Finally she pointed out to sea and soon our hero was emerging from the cold waters, carrying the blue and lifeless body of Meredith in his arms.

Click here to find out more!

Back at the hospital, the surgeons rallied around Meredith, warming her frozen body and indulging lots of serious looks. Shepherd’s despair was well acted by Patrick Dempsey, with the most touching example of togetherness coming from Sloan. Though painfully estranged from one another, the former best friends had a ‘moment’ when Sloan sat with Derek and tapped his arm in comfort. It was very under-played and low-key and it is in these small moments that I really think GA shines. It is during the showier scenes that it substitutes genuine emotion for annoying schmaltzy grand-standing, cue Izzie.

On hearing of Meredith’s condition, the interns watched worried from afar. George looked desolate, Cristina visibly crumpled and Karev looked stern. Izzie took this opportunity to galvanise her friends with words that writer Shonda Rhimes obviously considered to be rousing and inspirational – they weren’t. Her “I believe” speech dragged on and on, frequently repeated itself and seemed to touch on absolutely everything going on (what’s that? George’s marriage to Callie, let’s throw that in the mix. And Izzie’s mourning over Denny? Yep, that sounds good as well.) It was all well-intentioned to bring a togetherness to the scene, but was disappointingly cloying.

I have to admit that I was surprised that during the aftermath of such a massive tragedy that the surgical staff could all neglect their patients to go tend to their friend. At one point Meredith was being treated by the Chief, Burke, Bailey and Addison with Sloan and Shepherd slumped on the floor and the other four interns waiting in the corridor. This left only Callie actually helping the victims from the ferry crash. Now I know GA is fiction and a soppy, idealised one at that. But having virtually every surgeon tend to one person seemed a bit much of a stretch.

That said it wasn’t the only plot that had me screwing up my face in confusion. How are we supposed to believe in the large scale of the accident when George’s job was to locate one missing child? As a surgeon, with valuable skills how was this an appropriate allocation of resources? It seemed a bit too Saving Private Ryan for GA.

Ranting over – the other story-lines were very engaging. Izzie, under the telephone guidance of the Chief and Sloan, saved the life of her patient trapped beneath a truck. She rose above her personal fears to drill into the man’s skull to alleviate the blood clots forming. This earned her an end to her probationary period and provided a turning point for the doubting intern.

George managed to find his missing boy on Callie’s operating table and Karev had the unpleasant task of dealing with the patient’s families. Addison worried that no-one would miss her if she was to suffer an accident and Cristina upset Burke with her admission that their engagement needed the approval of Meredith. And it was Meredith, the unconscious patient that closed the episode – and in some serious style.

Meredith, rosy-cheeked and healthy looking awoke from her hospital bed. Having last seen her looking blue and close to death, was this one of those cheesy TV out-of-the-body experiences? Oh no. The awoken Meredith looked around her room to find Dylan – the bomb disposal expert who she had witnessed die in season two. A further turn of the head revealed Denny Duquette – bloody hell!

Dylan: Hey.
Meredith: [confused] Hey. Am I...
[Dylan smiles]
Meredith: ... dead?
Denny Duquette: Damn right you are.
Meredith: [looking between the two of them] Holy -
[cut to shot outside of room]

What an ending!

Criminal Minds: Mandy moves on?...

With Criminal Minds, CBS had a winner on its hands. The network had assembled a cast -- led by Mandy Patinkin, known for his rivetingly intense performances -- which delivered a drama in which a team of FBI agents analyze the behavior of criminals in order to solve or preempt brutal crimes. Viewers loved it and Criminal Minds regularly appeared in the top 10 or top 20 in weekly ratings.

But in July when the cast was expected to return from their summer break to begin working on the show's third season, Patinkin simply did not show up. Instead, he asked to be released from the hit series. CBS
granted his request citing "creative differences" but hinting the star's split with the show was more because of "a personal issue".

Patinkin's move may have stunned his Hollywood bosses and Criminal Minds fans around the world. But his sudden departure came as little surprise to journalists who had interviewed him a few weeks prior in Monaco.

As he sat with the media at the Monte Carlo Television Festival in mid-June to promote Criminal Minds, it was clear this was a man with a deep conflict between what he felt his role in the entertainment world should be and how he actually spent 14 to 16 hours a day, 10 months out of the year.

"I loathe those violent images and I want no part of that type of violence. I work with the writers and producers constantly to try and tamper that violence down," Patinkin said of some of the gruesome content of the show, which earned Criminal Minds criticism from its very debut.

Patinkin had been attracted to the series, he said, because he was interested in the intellectual journey of the criminal's mind, the interrogator's mind, and the victim's situation and history.

"That intellectual journey of which side of the line do we live on is what fascinates me always because we're all capable of fantasy but the difference between acting on fantasy and having the fantasy is the difference between a serial killer and someone who writes a novel."

Patinkin did seek to justify the show's existence by describing it as a "teaching tool" which would help parents understand and catch warning signs in their children (such as constant bed-wetting and cruelty to animals) and get them help before psychopathic tendencies calcified into a criminal personality. But he acknowledged the ugliness the show portrayed went against what he felt the world needed to see.

"I want to see more humour coming to television.... I want to live long enough to see the appetite for comedy become greater than the appetite for violence."

His own favourite television shows, he said, were All in the Family and The Honeymooners because they brought viewers poignant lessons about life with humour.

The former star of Chicago Hope, who also suddenly bowed out of that series, spoke of the struggle creative folk grapple with because they have an "oversensitivity" to the human condition.

"It is a great burden; many people who are great writers, and actors and musicians take their lives because they can't bear what's happening in the human condition. Certainly that's not an answer, but you understand that it's because of an oversensitivity to human nature."

Having extracted himself from Criminal Minds, Patinkin, who won a Tony award for his performance in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita, has hit the road with a two-hour musical "filled with comedy".

In Monaco, Patinkin's eyes lit up as he spoke of plans to tour the world with the sunnier project, which seems more in tune with his disposition and with what he said he sees as the role of the entertainment business: "First to entertain you by grabbing your attention and then by giving you a kernel of hope with an idealistic view of how to make the world's life better."

24: More on the Casting...

John Billingsley, formerly of The Nine as well as Fox's own Prison Break, has been added to the Season 7 cast of 24 in the recurring role of "Latham." Also, says the Reporter, Jeffrey Nordling (a recurring player on Dirt) has landed a series-regular gig on 24 as an FBI agent named Larry. The coming season of 24 will largely be set in Washington, D.C., says the trade.

24: New Cast Members added...

Thanks to BuddyTV for the following...

When you're more or less rebooting a beloved series, movie the setting from the west to the east coast, and totally dissolving the biggest and most important set your show has ever owned, you're going to have a lot new cast members. 24 has had an incredibly busy summer, whether it be trying to figure out what exactly season is going to be, or hiring an almost entirely new, full cast. The only returning cast members are Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer and Mary Lynn Rajskub as Chloe O'Brian. Today, it was announced that FOX would be bringing on John Billingsley (The Nine) and Jeffrey Nordling (Dirt) for season 7 of 24.

John Billingsley has been somewhat of a scene-stealer throughout his career, especially in last season's short-lived, but well-received The Nine. He's going to be playing a character named “Latham”. That is the only available information on the character, which leads me to believe that Billingsley will be portraying a bad guy. Latham just sounds like an evil bastard name, doesn't it? Jeffrey Nordling, on the other hand, will be playing an FBI Agent named Larry. There have been a lot of new FBI Agents cast this summer. How many FBI Agents does it take to catch Jack Bauer?

Janeane Garofalo, Rhys Coiro, and Nordling are all now cast as FBI agents. I could be wrong, but the plot for season 7 of 24 is coming into focus. Jack Bauer is going to be chased by FBI agents for some of the season and, in all likelihood, those same FBI agents will eventually team up with Jack to thwart an evil plan. I hope this isn't the case, because if I can accurately predict next season of 24, it means that the producers will not have done what they promised: get away from the formulas and patterns that have permeated the first six seasons.

Regardless, Billingsley and Nordling are nice additions to any cast.

24: Former stars joines ER

Thanks to BuddyTV for the following...

Nearly two seasons after her character's demise on the hit series 24, Reiko Aylesworth becomes the latest addition to the ER franchise. According to TV Guide's Michael Ausiello, the actress has signed on as part of the medical drama's 14th season.

Reiko Aylesworth became a household name as the tough and stoic Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) agent and eventual boss, Michelle Dessler for four seasons of 24. She will next play the new chaplain of County General on the long-running and multi-awarded ER.

Though tasked with administering to the spiritual needs of the patients, doctors and staff of the hospital, Aylesworth's character won't be hiding beneath a habit or bound by dogmatic laws on romance and celibacy. ER's new preacher will be permitted to lead a normal life including the use of provocative attire and the freedom to engage in the nuisances of modern dating. She is poised to provide color to the romantic life of John Stamos' Dr. Tony Gates character.

Since being killed off at the beginning of 24's fifth season, Reiko Aylesworth has appeared in episodes of Knights of Prosperity and the short-lived Conviction, with fellow 24 stalwart, Eric Balfour. She previously also guest-starred on popular series like Law & Order and its spin-off, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as well as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

On the big screen, the 34-year old Chicago native has been involved in two projects that are currently in post-production. She stars as Kinsy alongside ER alum, Gloria Reuben, on the drama-comedy, The Understudy, which is scheduled for release next year. She also appears as Kelly O'Brien in the sequel to 2003's Alien vs. Predator entitled Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. Also known as AVP2, the film is set to hit the theaters in December this year.

The Emmy award-winning ER returns to NBC with its season premiere on Thursday, September 27 at 10/9c.

Lost: Producers reveal new cast members...

Thanks to BuddyTV for the following...

This morning, via an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lost producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof gave the definitive answer to that question as they discussed the five new actors coming to Lost in season 4.

The scope of our piece was not so much are the casting announcements newsworthy, as much as do they reveal anything of consequence about the show. As information began to dribble out, imaginations were fired across the web and before you knew it fan sites were dripping with story details and character names all derived from the casting sheets. As it turns out, none of that is true.

“We actually [have] the actors read fake [scenes] and give them fake character names because those casting [pages] travel so widely, there's no way to maintain secrecy. So we basically have to come up with fake but analogous scenes that will show us qualities of an actor but won't give away what the role is. So yes, the stuff out there is not totally accurate.” Carlton Cuse told EW's Jeff Jensen.

A frustratingly bitter pill for hungry Lost fans to swallow, for sure, but not exactly new medicine. Every season of Lost is buffered by tons of false and inaccurate information from the Internet. In the end, of course, all that matters is what ends up on the screen.

While the interview at Entertainment Weekly illuminated more about the ‘why' than the ‘who,' ‘what,' and ‘when' of the new additions, it did reveal some unique trivia with regards to a past casting choice. “We had been interested in Lance back when we were casting the Mr. Eko part, but he was unavailable due to The Wire.” Cuse said, with regards to Lance Reddick joining as a ‘Ruthless Corporate Recruiter.'

And, just what does a ‘Ruthless Corporate Recruiter' do in the world of Lost? Is this a reveal after all? Damon Lindelof says “Around here at the Lost offices, 'corporate recruiter' means something entirely different than corporate recruiter. Let's just say that part of the character's skill set is coercion.” Yeah, we didn't think so.

Canterbury's Law: Aidan Quinn joins cast...

Canterbury's Law, an upcoming drama series from FOX, has expanded its cast with the addition of Emmy-nominated actor Aidan Quinn.

On the new legal drama, Quinn will play Matt Furey, husband of lead female character, Elizabeth Canterbury, (Julianna Margulies). Quinn's Matt is an Assistant U.S. Attorney who becomes a law professor following the mysterious disappearance of his son.

Aidan Quinn is taking over Linus Roache, who played the role in the original pilot. Roache left Canterbury's Law in order to take another acting gig on NBC's Law & Order.

Executive-produced by Denis Leary (Rescue Me), Jim Serpico and Walon Green, Canterbury's Law revolves around the couple as they try to settle into their new life in Providence, Rhode Island. Margulies' Elizabeth continues to work as an attorney, and the demanding job puts more strain on her marriage.

The cast also includes Ben Shenkman (Pi, Angels in America) as Russell Cross, Trieste Dunn (United 93) as Molly McConnell and Keith Robinson (American Dreams, Monk) as Chester Fields.

Aidan Quinn was most recently seen in the HBO original film, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. He played former Republican U.S. Senator and Representative Henry Dawes, and his portrayal earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie. This is the second Emmy nod of his career, having been first recognized in 1986 for his work on the made-for-tv movie, An Early Frost.

His other notable acting credits include Legends of the Fall, Practical Magic, Desperately Seeking Susan, Third Watch, Nine Lives and Return to Sender. He also starred on the short-lived drama series, The Book of Daniel.

According to the broadcast network's tentative long-term scheduling plans, Canterbury's Law is scheduled to begin airing sometime in January. The series is also expected to fill in the 9pm Thursday night timeslot.

Desperate Housewives: More on the New Family...

Thanks to BuddyTV for the following...

Early this month, it was reported that Nathan Fillion (One Life to Live, Firefly) and Dana Delaney (Kidnapped) will appear in the upcoming season of Desperate Housewives. Not too many details regarding the new characters were given, other than that Fillion would play a gynecologist, Delaney would play his older wife, Katherine, and a then unnamed actress would play Delaney's teen daughter.

Now, TV Guide has come out with a more extensive profile of the new family, who, in true Desperate Housewives fashion, is harboring a dark secret.

To start off, Nathan Fillion's character has been blessed with the name Adam. TV Guide talked to Fillion about his character, and though the actor refused to budge, he did let slip that his profession will most likely play a significant part in a storyline.

"One might extrapolate [that] if there is an OB-GYN around, someone may have need," Nathan Fillion said, but refusing to say whether or not Adam's job, which has him constantly interacting with women, will result in any illicit affairs.

Dana Delaney's on-screen persona is now known as Katherine Mayfair. Katherine lived in Wisteria Lane 12 years ago with her daughter, Dylan, and aunt, Mrs. Lillian Sims (Ellen Geer). With Adam in tow, she and Dylan move back to the small suburban neighborhood, presumably to take care of the ailing Mrs. Sims.

TV Guide described Dana Delaney's Katherine as a much darker version of Bree (Marcia Cross). She, like Bree, lives for perfection and tends to control other people. All of Wisteria Lane come to loathe her, especially Bree.

"I always wanted to come up with a character everyone loves to hate," Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry said, adding that he patterned Delaney's character after J.R. from Dallas and Amanda from Melrose Place. Katherine's flashbacks will also offer viewers the chance to see more of Wisteria Lane's dark past.

Ironically, the role of Bree was originally offered to Delaney, but she felt compelled to turn it down.

"I'd just done Pasadena, and it seemed too similar," Dana Delany told TV Guide. "It's very rare in life you get second chances. I'm really flattered and honored."

Last but not the least, 17-year-old Dylan will be played by Lyndsy Fonseca (The Young and the Restless, Boston Public). Contrary to what Mike Ausiello said earlier this month, Fonseca's Dylan is reportedly a “goody-goody,” having been trained well by her overbearing mother.

"My mom keeps me on a rigorous schedule and a short leash," Fonseca said of her character. "Almost like a dog." Dylan also suffers from a bit of memory loss, and was once best friends with Susan Mayer's (Teri Hatcher) only daughter, Julie (Andrea Bowen). Now, she does not remember anything, leading many to speculate that she experienced something traumatic as a child.

Of the mystery surrounding the family, Cherry said, “They had to leave Chicago because something unsavory happened in Adam's professional life.”

Desperate Housewives will return for its fourth season on September 30.

Prison Break: What Mahone's going to do...

We were previously told that Mahone is going to do something out of character in the season premiere, but we were not sure what it was.

I think that Mahone is going to save Michael's life somehow and it is out of character since he was trying to kill him last season, just check below.

All it said was this:

*a** *i****'s **fe

Save Michael's Life

It can be seen if you count the letters and it all fits together, but I may be wrong completely or it may have been pointed out before.

Lost: Actor returns to the show...

Harold Perrineau is set to make a comeback in castaway drama Lost.

The actor, who plays desperate dad Michael, has been away from the show for a whole season.

His character was last seen at the end of series two, sailing away from the island back to safety with his young son Walt.

But now ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson has confirmed Harold will return to the fourth season.

Prison Break: Wentworth dating Canadian Actor?...

Thanks to Canada.com for the following...

Is Prison Break star Wentworth Miller getting ready to go public with his alleged relationship with Canadian actor Luke MacFarlane?

The fiercely private Miller was all smiles when he was photographed with MacFarlane out and about in Los Angeles last weekend. The two men were snapped wearing matching sandals and similar beige pants. They got into a car together and drove off, with MacFarlane behind the wheel.

Bloggers have been abuzz all summer about the apparent romance between Miller, 35, and MacFarlane, 27.

Earlier this year, Miller spent time with MacFarlane in China, where the Ontario-born actor was shooting scenes for the upcoming mini-series Iron Road. According to the News Times in Shanghai, Miller was in the country to help the Zhongbo Media Group promote the Chinese adaptation of Prison Break.

MacFarlane has never spoken publicly about his sexuality, but was photographed last October strolling in Santa Monica with rumoured then-boyfriend T.R. Knight of Grey's Anatomy.

Dogged by speculation about his sexuality, Miller told an Australian interviewer he is aware of the rumours.

"I'm cool with the fact that they exist. I mean, this is about fantasy," he said. "Certain people are going to have certain fantasies. If someone wants to imagine me with a woman, or a man, or one of each, that's cool with me as long as you keep watching the show."

Both stars have played gay roles on television. MacFarlane appeared in the first season of Brothers and Sisters as Scotty Wandell, the boyfriend of Matthew Rhys's character, and Miller played flamboyant Adam Rotchild Ryan on several episodes of Popular in 2000.

MacFarlane and his twin sister, Ruth, were born in London, Ont., to Penny, a mental health nurse, and Thomas, director of student health services at the University of Western Ontario. He has an older sister, Rebecca.

A diagnosed dyslexic, MacFarlane learned to play instruments, including the cello and trumpet. In his final year at Lester B. Pearson School for the Performing Arts, MacFarlane formed the alt-rock band Slipnaught with friends Graeme Cornies and Nate Kreiswirth. Later renamed Fellow Nameless, the band nearly landed a contract with Maverick Records.

MacFarlane's passion for theatre developed in high school. He earned a four-year scholarship to the prestigious Juilliard School in New York, where he graduated from the drama program in 2003.

Following some small off-Broadway roles, MacFarlane was cast as the son of Liam Neeson and Laura Linney in the acclaimed film Kinsey. He earned some fame in 2003 on the short-lived U.S. cable series Over There, in which he played Private Frank Dumphy.

MacFarlane wrapped up work early this summer on Iron Road, which was shot in British Columbia. Airing on the CBC next March, it is the story of a young Chinese woman who travels to Canada in the 1880s to find work on the Canadian Pacific Railway and falls in love with the son of her boss. MacFarlane co-stars with Peter O'Toole and Sam Neill.

Heroes: Zachary Quinto Interview...

Thanks to National Post for the following Interview...

On Thursday morning, Quinto was in Toronto to promote Heroes' second season. Below is an edited transcript of our interview:

NP: One of the few things Sylar and Spock have in common is that they're loners. Is that part of what makes you a good fit for those roles?

ZQ: You're asking if I'm a loner? I think it's very important for me to very distinctly separate these two experiences and these two characters. ... I think that's probably more a question for J.J. and Tim Kring. What is it about me or what qualities about me drew them to me for these roles? There is something about the way I carry myself obviously that lends itself to these kinds of characters, but I don't think that means I can't play other kinds of characters as well.

NP: What do you see as your dominant traits as an actor?

ZQ: I like to think that my dominant traits are versatility and a wide range of capacity as an actor, which I think comes from certainly my training and my experience in the theatre, growing up and learning a lot on stage, and learning a lot about style and learning a lot about how to inhabit style and how to embody it. But again, these are questions that are difficult for me to answer, because I just do my thing. I do it the way I do it, and how people see it or respond to it, I can't have any control over, so it's hard to be objective about it.

NP: When you say inhabit and embody a style, what does that mean?

ZQ: Doing a Tennessee Williams play is very different from doing a Shakespeare play or a Molière play, or Tom Stoppard. There's just different styles of esthetic and of language and of the world that's created. Certainly both the world of Heroes and the world of Star Trek are heightened worlds, and they are both very stylized. And I think that that's a strength that I have as an actor, is being able to understand those styles and commit to them and exist within the world of them, believably and genuinely. And that's what I can directly trace back to my training and my experience in the theatre.

NP: You were in a Molière play?

ZQ: I went to Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh for acting, and junior year I spent on classics, on Molière and Chekhov and Shakespeare.

NP: What did you learn in school that are the most important lessons for you as an actor?

ZQ: Be on time. Be on time, and be ready. Be ready, always. The professionalism that was instilled in us in college is something that is by far the most applicable lesson I learned. There's many esoteric and abstract lessons that I learned about being an actor -- how to connect to material, how to be an actor, y'know? -- but learning to be on time and learning to be respectful of everybody that's working on a given project is probably the most important lesson that I took away from that experience.

NP: Do you have tricks as an actor, or --

ZQ: [scoffing] Tricks?

NP: Everybody can be committed to a role, but what do you do that might be the something extra that you bring to it?

ZQ: Tricks is a dangerous word, because tricks can mean a lot of different things. In school, we always referred to someone's bag of tricks as something that they would pull out just because that's what they were most comfortable with. I like to get as far out of my comfort zone as I can. I think that what happens in those situations, in what you're presented with, is good fuel for a lot of unexpected discoveries. My process as an actor is really personal and really probably not easy to articulate. I think it's probably more interesting for people to see what comes of that rather than being privy to the actual process.

NP: It seems with a lot of actors, there's a bit of "pay no attention to that man behind the curtain." They don't want to articulate the process. Is there an element of mystery to how acting works?

ZQ: Absolutely. ... It's just such an ephemeral process. It's just a very personal process. A lot of it has to do with where you are emotionally and how you respond to things personally. If you're putting it out there, if you're giving your work away, there has to be some element of it that is for you, there has to be some element that you don't give away, because that's where your connection to things is born.

NP: Without asking what that element of you is, where does it come from?

ZQ: I think it's a good question but I guess I just feel like it's one that -- I don't know, I don't feel like -- it's interesting territory where I am. I just know how I do my thing. I just do my thing, y'know, and I enjoy doing my thing. I don't feel like there's a way to communicate that.

NP: You said one of the things you learned in school was to be ready. Is Spock a role you felt like you were ready for? I read the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette interview where you dropped hints that --

ZQ: Many hints, yeah. I was gunning for it, really.

NP: So this is something that you felt ready for for a while?

ZQ: Oh sure, yeah. I don't think I would have gone after it if I didn't feel ready for it. I feel incredibly connected to this character and especially where we find him in the course of this journey.

NP: Do you think your presentation of Spock is more likely to surprise or to comfort the fans?

ZQ: This project is being done with a great respect for what's come before it, but I think it's also being done with a clear intention to have its own perspective, and I intend to create the role in the same way ... [The movie] will find its way, it will find its tone, we were talking about style before, it will find its style, and I'm sure that that style will include the people that have been hard-core Star Trek fans for as long as it's been around, and I also feel like it will inspire people that don't necessarily have a connection to the franchise to learn more about it and immerse themselves in it.

Heroes: Cast Won't Spill the beans...

If there is one superpower that all of those involved in the TV show Heroes share, it's an immunity to spoilers.

Despite all attempts at cajolery, four actors and an executive producer, in town this week to promote Heroes, kept the secrets of the series' second season (returning Sept. 24 on NBC and Global) to themselves.

The cast has been split up and sent all over the world to hype the DVD of season 1, released Tuesday, and strengthen connections with fans.

"It's really cool that they're actually letting us do it, to actually stop production for a week and go and interact with the fans. I mean, we're really such a fan-based show, and this kind of interaction is so important," said James Kyson Lee, who plays Ando. "The fact that we're going all over the world because the show is showing globally now, it's such a huge component."

The cast has just finished the sixth episode of the new season. Along with Lee, the Toronto contingent included Sylar, a.k.a. Zachary Quinto; Micah, played by Noah Gray-Cabey, and new cast member Dania Ramirez. Executive producer and writer Jeph Loeb also came along.

The show was absolutely NBC's break-out hit last year and this season it will be expanded with a spin-off series, Heroes: Origins. The creators have announced a whack of new cast members or guests with geek cachet, such as Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars), Nichelle Nichols (Star Trek) and David Anders (Alias).

"It's great to have new energy on the show," says Quinto. "Everybody on this show knows that means forgoing some of your own exposure to include other people, and that's really an important part of our ensemble ... I don't think there's anything but excitement about the new people coming aboard."

Dania Ramirez joins the regular cast as Maya, a woman whose powers are connected to her twin brother. But she won't reveal much about her character.

"She is found in Central America, and she is on the run because of her ability and it's making her journey up north a lot more difficult, because she's coming to America illegally and with her brother."

Of course, having such a large cast means that characters can become expendable.

"There is one thing that I would like for my character this season. I would like him not to die," says Gray-Cabey.

"Good answer," chimes in Quinto.

In addition to his role as the baddie, he's also busy preparing for his role as Spock in the new J.J. Abrams-helmed Star Trek movie, which he says will start shooting in November. Of course, there is one question that he gets asked more than any other and that's regarding his character's dietary habits: does he eat the brains of his victims?

"I feel like the mystery is the fun of the show, the fact that people are always like `Do you eat them? How do you eat them? You must eat them. You don't eat them, do you?' That's kind of cool and the lure of this character and the show," he says. "It's indicative of the water cooler nature of the show."

The cast is in town for a bunch of promotional duties, including a 12:30 p.m. event at Yonge Dundas Square today. Hopefully, brains won't be on the menu.

Prison Break: Fans Test Escape plan...

On Monday, a group of self-called "senior fans" of American popular TV series "Prison Break" showed their craze for the drama through a real-life experiment.

The experiment was held in a construction site in northern Beijing's Huilongguan community. The organizer says the goal of this experiment is to test the Hooke's law, which Michael Scofield, the lead character of the drama, used to help his brother and some of the inmates to break out of prison.

The Jinghua Times reports the story.

In the TV story, Michael Scofield, a former structural engineer, drilled several small holes on the wall, which helped him to break through the wall of the cell in which they stayed. It was based on the famous Hooke Law, according to him.

To test the viability of the plot, the participants, who got to know each other through the Internet, made a 15-centimeter thick wall. They tagged the locations of 12 holes on it, which they said had been calculated according to the famous law.

To save time, they used electric drill instead of the egg beater Michael Scofield used to drill the holes. And after finishing 12 holes on the wall, they found that it was indeed easier to break through.

It's not the first time the group of fans re-act plots from the play. Their previous experiments included how to turn a toothbrush into a key. "I just want to do it all over again by myself", "Prison Break 250", organizer of the activity explained why they did it.

Mad Men: Red In The Face...

Thanks to TVsquad for providing this summary...

(S01E07)

"By the way, Matherton? He has the clap." - Pete, to a pretty store clerk.

I have a relative who's an alcoholic, even if he doesn't admit it. But even he doesn't drink as much as Roger Sterling does. My God, did you see how much he sucked down tonight? Straight vodka, whiskey, Martinis with chocolate cake. He even brought in a bottle of vodka as a gift for Don and took a glass - not a cup or bottle, but a glass - of booze and drove home with it. When Don said to him the next day that it looks like he got home OK, I was thinking, you knew he was drinking a lot, so why did you let him drink and drive? Even if it is 1960, the fact that Don wondered if he got home in one piece is proof that drinking and driving was a concern back then too.

I've been going back and forth on whether Roger is a nice, misunderstood guy or a first class jerk. This episode made me tilt a little toward the latter.

Have you ever had a jerky boss over for dinner? I never have, come to think of it, but I can imagine it being a nightmare. Roger comes over, drinks a ton, eats a lot, then makes a pass at Betty while Don is out looking for more alcohol...and Don blames Betty? I'm glad he sort of acted sarcastic towards Roger the next day, and I'm also glad Roger apologized for it. His story of once being so drunk he "at some point we all park in the wrong garage" and comparing it to hitting on another's wife was kinda gross, but funny.

This guy is already cheating on his wife with Joan but also feels up a coworker's wife? Jeez. I did love his line to Pete though, after Pete said asked if they were talking. "Yeah, Don and I do that all the time when you're not around." Then saying "Goodnight Paul" was priceless (these are the moments when I like Roger).

The gang at Sterling Cooper is working on the Nixon campaign, and they're wondering how to approach. Most of the guys don't think that Kennedy will be the Democratic nominee (he's Catholic, doesn't wear a hat, etc), but Pete does, comparing JFK to Elvis. "That's what we're dealing with here." Have you noticed that even though Pete is kind of a jerk too that he's often right about these ad campaigns? But the look that Don gives Roger during the meeting, when he dismisses the ideas of the younger execs...you know he's beginning to think different about his boss.

Speaking of Pete, he uses his lunch hour to return a "chip and dip" bowl to the store. He can't get his $22 back, but he gets store credit (his flirting with the clerk didn't help at all), and he decides to buy a rifle. He points it at all the women in the office (nice camera work showing the rifle view of the women in the office). This is supposedly some macho move, though as Trudy says later, "what are you going to do with that?!" There's trouble in that marriage too.

Meanwhile, in creepy Glen land, Helen confronts Betty in the supermarket about the lock of hair she gave him. "He's 9 years old, what were you thinking?" When Betty slapped Helen I cringed a bit (but Helen's right).

I'm very impressed with this show. We can talk about the production design and period detail again and again and again, but I love the acting and the dialogue. The scenes tonight with Don and Roger talking and smoking and drinking and eating...the way the dialogue incorporated everything from the Russians launching dogs into space to Lucy and Desi getting divorced. It's scenes like this that separate the great shows from the good.

I also love how they drop a line about a previous plot thread, even if that plot thread isn't really explored in the episode. For example, Roger saying to Don,"The way you drop your "g's" I thought you grew up on a farm. Somewhere with a swimming hole." This keeps the "what is Don's secret?" plot alive, and even advances it in a quiet but effective manner (Roger is now wondering about his background in a subtle way). And did that last scene with Don and Roger and the elevator come out of nowhere or what? Great stuff.

Next week: Peggy wants to know if Pete still thinks of her, and our theory about Sal might be true after all...

Family guy comes to XboX Live...

Thanks to TVsquad for the following...

FOX recently signed on with Xbox Live Video Marketplace, and the first series available for the digital download-to-own service is Family Guy. FOX joins other television networks and movie studios on the service, including CBS, NBC Universal, Paramount, Warner Bros., MTV Networks and Lionsgate.

Family Guy was chosen to kick off the new content deal because of its attraction to the younger male demographic responsible for most of the downloads on the Xbox 360's Video Marketplace service. Starting next week, the series' first two seasons will become available, along with the Family Guy DVD movie/three-part episode, Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story. Newer seasons will follow, with fresh episodes hitting Video Martketplace the day after they debut on television.

This is very cool news for Family Guy fans, but I wonder how many people will download the episodes, considering the fact that Family Guy episodes are fairly ubiquitous these days. They're constantly being shown on Adult Swim and TBS, and, with a syndication launch just around the corner, not to mention DVDs, it's not like fans have been left wanting. But hey, it's another way to see and enjoy the series, so why the heck not?

K-Ville: Amanda Righetti Joins cast...

Thanks to TVguide for the following...

Someone over at Fox really likes Amanda Righetti.

The onetime O.C. starlet — who followed up her stint in Newport Beach with back-to-back gigs on Fox's North Shore and Reunion — is joining the cast of the net's new drama series K-Ville. She'll be playing the recurring role of A.J., a potential love interest for Cole Hauser. As we'll learn in the Sept. 24 episode, the two characters share a common link. To say more than that would ruin the big twist at the end of the Sept. 17 premiere. And as you know, I don't ruin. Spoil, yes. Ruin, no.

How I met your Mother: Busy Philips to join cast...

Thanks to TVguide for the following...

It's the stuff Maxim subscribers' dreams are made of: ER's Busy Philipps has been cast on How I Met Your Mother as the hottie who may or may not end up in the sack with Ted... and his hit-and-run fling, Trudy (Danica McKellar, the Wonder Years cutie, thankfully all grown up).

As you may recall me telling you in a recent Ask Ausiello, in the Oct. 15 episode, Trudy is ready to go another round with Ted, but a new rival has already staked her claim on him — Trudy's old college frienemy, to be played by Philipps. So things could get heated in one of two ways: There could be name-calling and hair-pulling or clothes-ripping and sheets-tangling. (Either way, Ted's one lucky mother.)

Though Philipps is likely to fit right in with the How crowd, don't expect her to stick around beyond this pre-sweeps installment. Ted's pal Lily gives the sexpot the big thumbs-down after realizing that she's the shopper who ruined her shopping trip by walking off with a pair of coveted boots.

So what do you think, folks? Will CBS really let Ted have his cake... and Danica McKellar's and Busy Philipps', too? Take a cold shower, then discuss amongst yourselves.

Prison Break: Season 3 Press Release...

Thanks to Spoilertv for the following...

Just when they thought they were out, they are pulled back in - for the most dangerous escape ever. Entering its dramatic and action-packed third season, Prison Break finds Michael Scofield wrongly incarcerated in Sona, a hellish Panamanian prison where there are no rules, no guards and no escape. [...] Despite Lincoln's exoneration for his alleged crimes, the brothers' freedom and happiness were short-lived as Michael was framed and sent to Sona Prison by "The Company," the same government conspiracy that originally put Lincoln behind bars. Michael soon discovers that he was purposely placed in Sona to engineer another daring and seemingly impossible prison break - this time in order to free Whistler, a mysterious inmate hiding within the prison's sewer system. Sona (inspired by the actual Carandiru Prison in Brazil) is unlike any American prison. A murderous riot among the inmates has driven all guards and authorities from the premises, leaving the prison with its own warped hierarchy and code of ethics created and ruled by vicious drug kingpin Lechero. Once inside Sona, Michael must avert Lechero's suspicions and wrath while protecting himself from a trio of enemies: Alex Mahone, the renegade FBI agent who was revealed to be involved with The Company; Brad Bellick, the former Fox River prison-guard-turned-hapless-bounty-hunter; and the one-handed, homicidal pedophile Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell- making Michael's plans for escape even more difficult and complicated. With the tables turned this time around, Lincoln must work outside the prison walls to help pull off the escape, as well as rescue his kidnapped son, LJ, and Michael's true love, Sara Tancredi. In Panama, Lincoln is reunited with fellow Fox River escapee Fernando Sucre and becomes involved with two beautiful women who will prove to be instrumental to the break - Susan B. Anthony, a cool and deadly operative for The Company; and Sofia, Whistler's innocent girlfriend who is unaware of the danger she is about to encounter. With the clock ticking, Michael and Lincoln must figure out a way to reunite with their loved ones, bring down The Company and engineer the most thrilling prison break yet.

Grey's Anatomy: Episode 6 Plot Details...

Thanks to SpoilerTV for the following...

Jackie, Helena, Jason, Mike, and Contest Judge: The two women are fighting with each other on the same gurney as the paramedics take them out of the ambulance. They are fighting over a huge bronze key. Jackie has a dislocated shoulder and a fractured leg, while Helena has a broken nose, cuts, and a chunk of missing scalp. It seems that the ladies were in a contest to win the house of their dreams, and the first one to grab the key wins. Dr. Martin admonishes the two women, and tells them to get their priorities straight and let go of the key. The ladies mull this over, flat-out refuse, and the fight continues. Finally, Dr. Brown has an idea. Dr. Kale (who from a slip on the sides we know is George) is going to be the proxy for Jackie so she will allow Dr. Martin to take her and reset her shoulder. However, when Dr. Martin examines Jackie she finds that her shoulder is much worse than thought and she cannot reset it without surgery. Jackie refuses the surgery at first.

George is talking to Helena. She says that she knows he thinks she is crazy, but she does not have a choice. George tells her she does, she could just let go. Helena explains to him her situation - her mother has done everything possible to help her get settled ever since she got engaged. Her mother is a woman of modest means, and Helena knows she will bankrupt herself to give Helena the life that she didn't have. It's important to her that Helena's life be perfect, since after Helena's dad walked out on her, her mother's life wasn't. George seems to respect this. Later, we learn that Helena needed surgery. When she comes out of it, she learns that her spleen had ruptured and she needed emergency surgery. Also, George had let go of the key so Helena won the house.

Note: The Contest Judge is hysterical. He ultimately begs the doctors to medicate him.

Mr. Arnold - A man in his 30's. He is nervous, and is complaining of shortness of breath which makes it impossible for him to do his bird calls. Mr. Arnold is an avid bird watcher, and now he is planning to go see a bird that was previously thought extinct but now they have found in Louisiana. However, he will not be able to fulfill his dream due to his heart condition and he is not a candidate for surgery. He is devestated. For some reason later on he IS in surgery, but its neurosurgery. One of those cool "Derek is operating on someone awake" surgeries. Mr. Arnold, however, gets a little nervous and starts freaking out when he realizes that...well...his brain is exposed and everyone can see it. So, one of the doctors calms him down by making him pretend that the people in the gallery are birds he can watch. It works.

Rick and Sally - Sally is Rick's rock climbing instructor (mountain climbing metaphor again - oh you tricky Shonda!). It seems that Rick took a fall while they were climbing, and by all rights should be dead (a near-death experience? IMO if this is NOT Meredith's case they are losing a REALLY VALUABLE opportunity). Sally is very concerned, nervous at what happened to Rick, and tells him that they are going to break the tapes of the climb. The doctors watch the tape of the climb, see the fall, and they hear Rick call to Sally as he was falling that he loves her. Sally didn't hear it above her own shouting. One of the doctors ( MUST be Meredith ) tells Rick that the clarity and everything else he feels right now will fade, the clarity goes away, so tell people what you have to tell them now.

Desperate Housewives: Actress to star in romantic comedy...

Desperate Housewives actress Felicity Huffman is in talks to star in a new romantic comedy.

The Accordian will be based on the Italian movie Bread and Tulips, telling the story of a woman who gets stuck on a golf tour, forcing her to reassess her life.

The film is being directed by Norman Jewsion who worked on The Thomas Crown Affair. Moonstruck writer John Patrick Shanley has been put in charge of the script.

Jewison told LA.com: "I'm working on the screenplay now with John, and Felicity wants to do it. It's a very funny, touching romantic comedy."

Talking about possible alterations from the original movie, he commented: "In the Italian film the setting was Venice, but we're changing Venice to New Orleans post-Katrina.

"Every film has a place and an ambiance, and it's very important because the setting and where it takes place is part of the story, so the city is very involved in the film."

Here's what JustJared have to say...

Wentworth Miller gives a friendly wave to photographers before passing through security and catching a flight out of LAX airport on Tuesday in Los Angeles. The Prison Break hottie was most likely on his way to shoot his hit TV series on location in Dallas, TX.

Earlier this week, Went was spotted out and about with actor pal Luke MacFarlane, stopping off at Kinko’s, Starbucks and In-N-Out.

And here are two recent Went quotes from GQ Germany:

“My father is Black, my mother White. That makes me a Lone Ranger between the two ethnic communities.”

“I constantly have to define myself for others. The problem is that the definitions always belong to those who define, not to those who are defined.”

CSI-Las Vegas: 8.05 Spoilers...

Thanks to SpoilerTV for the following...

Weatherly Adams: She is the victim of a suspected murder. We see her in two flashbacks. In one, she is breaking up with Albert Zarco (since she is the queen of B horror flicks, she is doing this in a horribly melodramatic fashion. The cops accuse Zarco of killing her because he has a prior history of stalking her after the break-up. We see the "death" of Weatherly in flashback during the questioning of Bennett Lafoon, one of the owners of the production company that Weatherly worked for. In this flashback, Bennett and Stanley are talking on the stage after everyone else has gone home. Weatherly walks over to say goodnight when she trips on a cable, breaks her heel, tries to stop her fall by steadying herself on a furniture dolly, and falls impaling herself on a pipe (I feel bad about laughing at this). He says that they did not call the authorities because the studio had so many OSHA and safety violations they were afraid an accident of this magnitude would get the studio closed up.

Tommy Lafoon: He is described as a mean, cold, nasty man. Tommy tells Brass that he and Bennett own the company. Tommy is VERY eager to blame the murder on Albert Zarco, adding in that Zarco claimed to get hurt on the job and blamed them for it. When the cops ask for the tapes from the security camera Tommy says it wasn't working, but Stanley informs them that he got it fixed three days ago and goes to get them the tapes. Later on, Tommy is arrested and brought to the station. For strategic reasons that we do not get in the sides, the cops make sure Tommy is walking in as they are letting Zarco go. Tommy is enraged that Zarco is being released, words are exchanged, and Tommy physically attacks Zarco which leads to a physical confrontation between the two men.

Stanley Vespucci: He alerts the authorities that Weatherly is missing. Brass and Nick go down to the studio to investigate. Stanley reveals that no one has seen Weatherly since they finished taping at 4 AM. The cops find her purse with her cell phone and car keys still hanging over the back of her dressing room chair. They also see that she recently had white roses delivered, and when they ask who sent them Stanley tells them it was probably some whacko since Weatherly attracted them. He hands them a thick file with information on all her stalkers and whack job followers. They go into the special effects room, and see flies buzzing around the pile of fake Weatherly bodies - and among the pile find her real dead body.

Pola Chesterwood - a pretty young actress who chokes when the SFX guy accidentally shoots fake blood into her mouth during a take. This scene pretty much lets us know that the studio does B rate horror films in a truly funny almost spoof of them, complete with demented dwarf! Also firmly establishes that the director - Zach Putrid ( who I am dubbing funny, eccentric character of the episode ) is a bit of an idiot.

SFX Guy - More proof that Zach Putrid is a bit of an idiot.

Editor - It's official - Zach Putrid is a bit of an idiiot.

Albert Zarco - The only new information we get from this side is that he tells the authorities while they are questioning him that he has been in therapy since his last stalking episode with Weatherly, and that he has not been in the studios for over a year. Then there's the scene where he passes Tommy.

Dr.Who: Paul McGann wants to return?...

Former Doctor Who star Paul McGann would happily portray the eighth incarnation on the Time Lord on television again if he is asked.

Speaking to SyFy Portal, the 47-year-old actor admitted that the BBC hasn't contacted him, dispelling recent suggestions that he may return for a multi-Doctor story. "Well, they haven’t called me, but often you hear it first through rumour. But you know… I’d go back and do it… as long as I don’t have to wear a wig."

McGann took on the role of The Doctor for the 1996 television movie, with plans for a full series to follow in a joint production between the BBC and the Fox network. However, despite impressive UK ratings, the venture failed to attract a significant American audience and more installments were not commissioned. McGann has since played the iconic Time Lord in a number of radio plays.

South Park: Creater joins Digital Deal...

The creators of South Park have signed a deal to make three more series and produce digital spin offs.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone reached an agreement with Viacom which will see the cartoon expand its presence on the internet, mobile phones and computer consoles.

Stone said the deal "gives us the opportunity to offend that many more people". It is includes at least 42 more episodes for Comedy Central and is reportedly worth $75m (£37m).

He added: "Since Trey and I are in charge of the digital side of South Park, we can offend people on their cell phones, game consoles and computers too. It's all very exciting for us."

Digital ventures will be focused on SouthParkStudios.com. Users will be able to watch episodes with adverts, rather than using illegal downloads, and it will also offer new creations from the paid.

Doug Herzog, from Viacom, commented: "This extension and the formation of the joint venture are the beginnings of a new era for South Park and Comedy Central and a natural evolution of our long-term and prosperous relationship with Trey and Matt."

The 30-year-old actor first rose to fame when he starred in the popular teen drama series, Dawson's Creek. On the show, James Van Der Beek played Dawson Leery, an aspiring filmmaker who gets involved with his best friend, Josephine “Joey” Lynn Potter (Katie Holmes). Other cast members included Joshua Jackson (Bobby) as Pacey Witter, Oscar nominee Michelle Williams (Brokeback Mountain) as Jen Lindley and Kerr Smith (Justice) as Jack McPhee.

James Van Der Beek's other notable acting credits include Varsity Blues, The Rules of Attraction and Criminal Minds.

Other celebrities who have appeared as guest stars on Ugly Betty include Gina Gershon (Bound, Face/Off), and Salma Hayek, who also serves as an executive-producer for the show. Gershon is known for her portrayal of Italian cosmetics mogul Fabia, the arch-rival of Wilhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams), while Hayek appeared in the first season as seductive magazine editor, Sofia Reyes.

In the forthcoming season of the series, actor Freddy Rodriguez and singer Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham are expected to appear. Rodriguez will play a new character named Giovanni, a sandwich cart operator who becomes Betty's (America Ferrera) new love interest, while Beckham will reportedly play a fat version of herself.

For this year's Emmy Awards, Ugly Betty's debut season picked up four acting nominations: Outstanding Lead Actress for Ferrera, Oustanding Supporting Actress for Williams and Outstanding Guest Actress for both Hayek and Judith Light. In addition, the show is nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series.

The second season of Ugly Betty will premiere on September 27.

Prison Break: Wentworth Gay?...

Thanks to BuddyTV for the article...

Is he, or isn't he? The questions orbiting Wentworth Miller these days don't have anything to do with Prison Break, but his comments to the press sure seem to indicate that he wishes they were. Miller has been linked with TR Knight's former boyfriend,

Luke MacFarlane, for some time now prompting the “Wentworth Miller is Gay” rumors that just refuse to die. Now, some candid snap shots and some sandals have the internet buzzing yet again.

Miller, who has guarded his privacy ferociously, was recently photographed out and about with MacFarlane in Los Angeles over the weekend. The duo were out for a walk, wearing nearly identical beige pants and apparently matching sandals. The photographer who snapped the duo reported that the two left, with MacFarlane driving.

Miller's response to the gay allegations have become as ambiguous as fellow purported closeteer Clay Aiken. Miller was quoted by an Australian journalist as saying "Certain people are going to have certain fantasies. If someone wants to imagine me with a woman, or a man, or one of each, that's cool with me as long as you keep watching the show." Referring, obviously, to his hit FOX series Prison Break.

Of course Miller does make a valid point. The desperation that fans display in learning the answer to the question “Is Wentworth Miller Gay?” is hardly going to be paid off by an answer. Either way, you sort of say “Oh,” and walk away. In the end, the focus should be on what attracted our attention to Wentworth Miller to begin with, his performances.

This is, of course, the point where everybody brings up Adam Rothchild Ryan, the flamboyantly gay character Miller played on Popular back in the day.

Histrionic laden beige and sandals aside, if Miller truly is gay, and is avoiding the admission simply to protect the privacy of himself and those in close proximity, he's either going to wait for the volume to fall, or come out just to stop the noise. One thing that is definitely revealed in these pictures is that the Prison Break star is developing a bit of a ponch. Good thing they won't be needing as many shirtless scenes this season.

CSI: Stars talk about their characters...

Thanks to BuddyTV for the following...

Like other actors on the CSI franchise, William Petersen (Gil Grissom) and Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) feel fortunate to portray their respective characters and to be part of such an award-winning series.

Petersen, 54, reveals that science was something he was never really good at. But since landing the role of the forensic entomologist, he has developed a keen interest in the field and has seen some surprising changes in his personality.

"I was terrible in school at science," he told WOWOW. "He was so different than me, and so it was interesting for me to be able to try and do something that I was not familiar with. Since then, I've become very attracted to science, so it was a good thing for me."

"I don't kill insects anymore," he added. "I used to swat flies and my wife used to make me chase the spiders. I have a whole backyard full of spiders now, webs everywhere. They're just crawling around the house.”

Moreover, he describes his character as someone "very in touch with his childhood," which gives him a unique perspective on reality and what he does for a living.

"[H]is imagination and his creativity led him into science, so for him science is like playing childhood games and I think that that's always a big part of how he views his work. For him, it's all just wonder, you know, and he doesn't allow himself to become too adult about it…[otherwise] it would be too difficult for him to do it because it's all tragedy, and there's so much violence and inequity.”

For Fox, 39, she says her character, as well as Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) are strong and professional women, which is one of the reasons why she feels lucky to portray the forensic scientist.

"They're completely intellectual and at the same time they feel very real. They feel like real people to me. It feels like a person that somebody could actually be," she said.

Meanwhile, people involved with CSI are still being tight-lipped about whether Fox's character, Sara, will live or die. Season 7 has left viewers with Sara's life hanging in the balance, trapped beneath a car somewhere in the desert. According to executive producer Naren Shankar, the upcoming season's premiere episode “Dead Doll” will finally give a satisfying resolution to last season's cliffhanger.

"Let's just say fans will be very satisfied with how it turns out," he said. "No loose ends will be left dangling at the end of the first episode."

CSI returns on Thursday, September 27 on CBS.

Criminal Minds: Executive Producer explains...

Here's What BuddyTV has to say...

Mandy Patinkin's sudden exit from Criminal Minds left the cast and crew on the edge as they tried to find a way to deal with the loss. The news spread like wildfire on the internet. Various sites pointed the finger at the production crew, with stories claiming that Patinkin and the producers had gotten into nasty contract negotiations that resulted in the actor leaving the series.

"I really started looking at this stuff and we were being blamed," executive producer Ed Bernero said of the accusatory web articles. "This guy never asked for anything he didn't get. We have a culture where we're so ... forgiving of celebrities -- they were looking for a reason to make it everybody else's fault.”

During the press tour last month, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler said that Mandy Patinkin's departure was due to “creative differences.” At the time, however, the internet had already created much negative buzz for the series, leaving Bernero no other choice but to clarify the situation himself.

"Let me make this clear: This is not about a contract renegotiation, this is not about money, this is not about something Mr. Patinkin asked for and wasn't provided -- in fact, everyone involved in the show has for two years bent over backward to give him anything he wanted," Bernero wrote on one of the show's unofficial fan blogs.

"Mr. Patinkin told the show, the studios and the network he was returning right up to the day before we started shooting the first episode and then simply did not show up. ... He was not, as some media reports have indicated, written 'lightly' in our first episode. In fact it was quite the opposite. Because of the construct of the first episode story, he was actually in the center of that episode. He left us completely in the proverbial lurch."

In a more recent interview with Washington Post's TV Column, Bernero said that he came out with the statement not to paint Mandy Patinkin in a bad light, but to simply save Criminal Minds.

"It was not personal about Mandy, it was about the show not being blamed for [his departure]. I thought it was really detrimental for the show losing Mandy, which was big in itself, and then have people blame the show," Bernero explained. "It was trying to say, 'Guys, we didn't do this.' "

Now that the dust has finally settled, the show is ready to move on with its latest cast member, Joe Mantegna. However, Patinkin is expected to appear in two episodes of the show's upcoming season, as a way of providing closure for his character, Gideon. Contrary to what has been reported, Bernero told TV Column that Patinkin worked 14 hours on the set, and that he worked alone simply because the other cast members were not needed in the scenes.

"It's not that they didn't want to work with him,” Bernero explained.

The third season premiere of Criminal Minds is a modified version of an unaired episode from the previous season. In the episode, the team leads an investigation of a serial killer targeting women at a college. CBS decided to yank the episode because its air date corresponded with the Virginia Tech killings.

Now, scenes from that episode will be part of a flashback, integrated with scenes showing Gideon writing a “cryptic note” to someone. Viewers will find out who the note is for in the second episode, as well as how things will end for Gideon.

Greek: BBC Three Acquires UK rights...

Thanks to BuddyTV for the following...

Earlier this month, the British cable network, BBC Three, bought the UK rights to ABC Family's new dramedy, Greek. The series is centered on the U.S. college experience and how the Greek system serves as a social minefield for the student community.

All 20 episodes of Greek's debut season have been licensed to the BBC Three by Disney-ABC International Television. Of the show, BBC Three Controller Danny Cohen said, "I'm delighted to have Greek as part of our BBC Three drama offering. It brings a very different kind of flavor to the channel, and is a further enrichment of the drama plans we're developing for the channel, including the pilots announced last month."

Disney-ABC International Television EMEA's Senior Vice President of Sales Jim Brehm added, "Greek has created a buzz in the international TV market right from launch, and we're looking forward to working with BBC Three to launch the series to the UK."

The series follows Rusty (Jacob Zachar), a recent high school graduate who is desperate to shed his reputation as a “geek.” He decides to use the Greek system of Cyprus-Rhodes University to accomplish his goal, but his journey is not without obstacles. Standing in his way is older sister, Casey (Spencer Grammer), a well-established figure in the Greek community who is determined not to let her younger brother infiltrate her world.

The cast also includes Paul James (Cold Case) as Calvin, Clark Duke (Hearts Afire) as Dale, Scott Michael Foster (The Horrible Flowers) as Cappie, Amber Stevens (Complete Savages, CSI) as Ashleigh, Jake McDorman (CSI: Miami, House) as Casey and Dilshad Vadsaria (Vanished) as Rebecca.

Created and co-executive-produced by Patrick Sean Smith (Wildfire), Greek has maintained solid ratings since its July 9 premiere. At the time BBC Three acquired the rights to the show, it was among the Top 10 cable shows in its timeslot in key demographics.

Greek airs Monday nights at 9/8c on ABC Family.

Heroes: Keep an eye out for Molly Walker...

Thanks to Heroes Fanatic...

Remember Molly Walker, the little girl Matt Parkman saved to begin season one… and then befriended again to end season one?

As most Heroes followers could have guessed, her fear of the “Boogeyman” will play a prominent role in season two.

Here’s what Creator Tim Kring had to say about the part of Molly, also known as the Heroes “tracking device” for her unique super power…

To be honest, we actually thought her re-entry into the show was going to be a lot sooner, and it got pushed back. While we knew she was coming back, in all seriousness and candidness we didn’t know it was going to be that late in the series. I would pay some attention to Molly Walker and what she represents as an important clue as to where [Season 2] is going.

That’ll be revealed pretty much in the season opener, but this idea that Molly Walker and Suresh’s [Sendhil Ramamurthy] sister had similar ailments is a key part of where this story is going in the second season.

Heroes: New DVD Info...

Thanks to Ain't It cool.com for the following DVD Review...

A grown-up look at superheroes from a guy who never read comic books, “Heroes” was last seaon’s best new show. So get this. Before creating “Heroes,” Tim Kring’s claim to fame was the creation of “Crossing Jordan.” Kring wanted to make a more serialized show for a while now; successful high-continuity series like “24” and “Lost” gave Kring the opportunity, and we are lucky viewers for it.

If you’ve not seen “Heroes,” it’s like “X-Men” without the school. There’s somebody like Shadowcat who can “phase” through walls, somebody like Mystique who can assume any appearance, somebody like Forge who can manipulate machinery, somebody like Wolverine who can heal herself, somebody like Rogue who can absorb the superpowers of others, somebody like Angel who can fly, somebody like Nightcrawler who can teleport, somebody like Professor X who can read minds and somebody like Leech who can drain the superpowers of others. There’s even a guy named Gabe Grey (a.k.a. “Sylar”) who can move stuff with his brain, just like Jean Grey.

Kring, a masterly plotter, has engineered with this complex sci-fi extravaganza the finest streak of twists and cliffhangers in the history of television. Add to the mix writer-producer Bryan Fuller, creator of “Dead Like Me” “Wonderfalls” and “Pushing Daisies,” and we got one of the most watchable franchises on American airwaves.

Cheerleader Claire (invulnerable only on the outside) and her platonic buddy Zach turned out to be the most endearing couple on TV.

Sylar, who grew more powerful every time he ate superhero brain, is one of the scariest villains in filmed entertainment.

And if you seek the heart, look no further than bespectacled and murderous mutant-hunter Noah Bennet, a man willing to tamper with his own wife’s brain in the service of a ruthless employer’s shadowy agenda. The road this dark man travels, particular the turns he takes midway through the season in “Company Man,” sent tears rolling down a few faces, mine among them.

The season finale deservedly gets guff aplenty because 1) Sylar’s defeat was so devoid of imagination (mundane even) and 2) Nathan “sacrificing” himself to save Manhattan didn’t make a ton of sense because Peter also has the power of flight. Still, I even give the finale points for its intriguing return of Richard Roundtree.

Key extras unique to the HD-DVD version:

1) Most dramatically, only the HD version provides snazzy picture-in-picture video of the cast and creators giving their commentaries, which means HD-DVD purchasers get to find out that series writer-producer Natalie Chaidez, who scripted episodes “The Fix” and “Better Halves,” is hot. (The audio on the HD-DVD and DVD commentaries are identical.) The only season-one commentary not videotaped, apparently, was the one Kring provided for his oversized unaired pilot.

2) Only the HD version can be programmed to provide “Character Connections,” text screens that explain how all the dramatic personae know each other.

3) Only the HD version can be programmed for “Helix Revaled,” which leaps into play every time one of those helix symbols (like the one tattooed on Jessica’s shoulder) appears in an epiosode. And that helix turns up a lot.

4) Only the HD version can be programmed for “Artwork Presentation,” which brings into special high-def close-ups all of the illustrations comic-book artist Tim Sale created for the show.

Extras common to the DVD and HD-DVD versions:

* THE ORIGINAL UNAIRED PILOT (73:35) illustrates shows us some of the roads the series belatedly decided not to travel. Learn that Matt Parkman was going to use his superpower to hunt down a terrorist, only to discover that the terrorist he’s been hunting is actually his boyhood pal, a former foreign exchange student the Parkman family took in decades earlier. Discover also how Isaac Mendez’s heroin addiction originally caused him to dismember himself. See how shitty was the original Peter-Natham flying sequence that concluded the first episode. Find out that the original plan was not to make each hour one chapter; Kring originally intended to divide each hour-long episode into several “chapters.” Kring provides an audio commentary explaining why he made the changes.

* THE MAKING OF HEROES (9:59) reminds us that Mohinder was originally supposed to be 55 years old. At Comic Con 2006, an excited Ali Larter admits she’s astonished so many are so keen about a show that hasn’t yet aired. Discover that Chicago native Sendhil Ramamurthy’s “Heroes” accent is a sham.

* THE SPECIAL EFFECTS (8:43) reminds us of Masi Oka’s digital-effects background, and how it helped him communicate with the “Heroes” effects staff.

* THE STUNTS (10:21) reveals that renaissance man Masi Oka has a black belt in Kendo. We also learn that “Heroes” regulars generally like to do their own stunts but are frequently prohibited by those insuring the production.

* PROFILE OF ARTIST TIM SALE (11:25) reveals that the veteran comic-book artist is color-blind, and that others have to add the color to Isaac’s “paintings.” Sale wonders aloud how heroin-addict Isaac can afford his sprawling New York loft.

* THE SCORE (8:57) shows how series composer/musicians Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman are holding up a quarter-century after they backed Prince on “1999.”

Grey's Anatomy: Cristina Yang...

Thanks to BuddyTV for the following article...

We all know the story. Sandra Oh's character on Grey's Anatomy, Cristina Yang, was affected by the behind-the-scenes scandal involving her on-screen beau Isaiah Washington. ABC and Shonda Rhimes decided to eviscerate Washington from the cast and therefore end the on-screen relationship between his Dr. Preston Burke and Cristina. The final episode of Grey's Anatomy's third season ended with the botched marriage of those characters and Cristina is going to find herself alone at the outset of season 4. So, where does she go from here?

In case you were wondering how the Preston/Cristina story will be resolved without Washington, we have some spoilery info for you. If you don't want to be spoiled, skip to the next paragraph. Cristina is still going to attend her planned honeymoon, with Meredith taking Preston's spot. When the two get back, Preston will be gone. Simple as that. Cristina is going to have to start over.

Cristina has been with Preston for most of the series and, now alone, it'll be interesting to see how this alters the course of that character and where Shonda and company will take her. Will the failed wedding open her up, make her more personable? Or, will Cristina crawl into a shell and be more bitchy than ever? I don't think there's an in-between there. It's either/or. And, I don't think either is out of character.

I've read spoilers for the first few episodes and nowhere does it give any hints as to where Cristina's love life will go. Of course, they may take it easy on Cristina for a good part of the season and let her recover before putting her back on the market. This is actually the most sensible thing. But, when she does make herself available, is there anyone in the current cast who Cristina could likely knock boots with? I don't know if there is.

It's one of the many questions, important ones, that the writers of Grey's Anatomy are facing going into a big, transitional season. After a lackluster second half to the third season, Grey's is going to have to step it up big time to keep their loyal fan base happy.

Smallville: Tom Welling... Big Screen?...

For years, a growing contingent of Smallville fans have called for the small-screen's young Man of Steel to don the blue tights, if not on the show, then in a big screen effort. So far, there has been nothing but disappointment. With the recent news that Brandon Routh will not be appearing the Justice League America movie, instead waiting out a Superman sequel with Bryan Singer, it looks like Smallville fans please may finally be heard.

IESB is reporting that Tom Welling has been rumored to be cast as Superman in the Justice League America film that will begin shooting shortly. The live action film will feature a host of superheroes joining forces with Superman as their leader to battle superhuman threats. If the rumor is true, Tom Welling would finally be wearing the infamous blue tights.

Apparently, inquiries made to Welling's reps resulted in a shuffle and the confirmation has yet to come through. The optimistic may look at this diversion as near admission that the rumor is true. The pessimists, on the other hand, might look at this as the negotiations are still in progress.

One potential wrinkle is the fact that Justice League America's filming schedule overlaps Smallville's. For how long and when, we don't know for sure, but the point is Smallville would have to accommodate the film by either shooting Clark/Welling's scenes in a clump at the end of this big screen duties, or writing in a plausible absence for Clark that could run as long as 4-6 episodes.

The benefits for Smallville far outweigh any convenience that these accommodations may cause. However, it remains to be seen if fans can recover from seeing Clark make the evolution to Superman on the big screen and then return to the confines of Clark, sans tights, on Smallville. It has often been said that Clark wearing the tights would be the end of Smallville since a line would be crossed. Would the same be true if that line is crossed on the big screen in a tangential project?

One Tree Hill: Sophia Bush ruled Teen Choice Awards...

One Tree Hill actress Sophia Bush, dominated this year's Teen Choice Awards, taking home a total of three awards: Choice Breakout Female in a Movie, Choice Actress in a Horror/Thriller Movie for The Hitcher, and Choice Actress in Comedy Movie for John Tucker Must Die.

This is not the first time Sophia Bush has graced the teen-centered awards ceremony. She was first nominated for a Teen Choice award in 2005, for her portrayal of Brooke Davis on the CW's One Tree Hill. She was again nominated for the role the following year, but failed to capture the award on both occasions. This year, she did not receive a nomination for the series.

Nevertheless, earning three awards in one night placed her in the same level as the Disney blockbuster, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, which slew its competitors by winning the award for Choice Action Adventure Movie.

Other winners that night include the television movie High School Musical 2, Zac Efron, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, comedian Dane Cook, Avril Lavigne, Justin Timberlake and Fergie, who gave the most emotional acceptance speech of the night.

"This award isn't paid for. This award isn't traded for favors," Fergie said, while tearing up. "This is picked by you."

The awards are selected by the teen-voting public, with the winners receiving surfboards instead of statuettes.

The event was hosted by Hilary Duff (Lizzie McGuire) and Nick Cannon, and was telecast on August 26, Sunday, from the Gibson Amphitheater at Universal Studios Hollywood. In less than two hours, presenters rapidly went through 30 categories. The show also featured musical performances from such artists as Shop Boyz and American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson.

The biggest highlight of the night was when 53-year-old John Travolta took to the stage to accept the award for Choice Summer Comedy/Musical Movie for Hairspray, wherein he played Edna Turnblad.

Meanwhile, fans of Sophia Bush can catch her again on the small screen when One Tree Hill returns for its fifth season next year.

Jericho: New Deal?...

Thanks to BuddyTV for the following...

Although the fate of CBS's Jericho still hangs in the balance, showrunner Jon Turteltaub and his studio, Junction Entertainment, has signed a multi-year overall deal with the network. Aside from Turteltaub, Jericho co-executive producers Karim Zreik and Dan Shotz, both of whom work for Junction, will also remain with CBS.

"They are smart, collaborative and have been extremely instrumental in making the show a cult favorite," David Stapf, president of CBS Paramount, told Variety. "They had a clear vision of the direction of the show both in look and story. We're fortunate that Jon not only brought his sense of humor, but his cinematic style to television."

Of his Junction colleagues, Turteltaub said, “Without Dan and Karim, there's no company -- it's just me sitting around in my underwear wanting to be in showbiz," Turteltaub said. “These guys make things happen."

Jericho, which will return for a second season next year, marks Turteltaub's television debut. The drama series has gained a small but loyal following, whose grassroots campaign resurrected the show from its May cancellation.

The campaign had fans sending numerous emails to CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler and bombarding the network with around 50,000 pounds of nuts. The network has ordered seven episodes for the second season, which will air as a midseason replacement.

Jericho is actually the result of a deal Turteltaub signed with the network in 2005. Following his film, National Treasure, Turteltaub was successfully recruited by Tassler.

"I loved every minute of it," Tassler, who is a fan of the series herself, told Variety. "Throughout the entire experience, Jon and his talented team have impressed me with their passion and dedication."

Jericho is a post-apocalyptic drama series set in a small, rural town in Kansas. The cast includes Michael Gaston, Alicia Coppola, Kenneth Mitchell, Skeet Ulrich, Pamela Reed, Gerald McRaney, Lennie James, Brad Beyer, Ashley Scott, Sprague Grayden, Eric Knudsen and Shoshanna Stern.

Presently, Turtelaub is busy working on the sequel, National Treasure: Book of Secrets. The film boasts a stellar cast that includes Nicolas Cage, Jon Voight, Helen Mirren, Harvey Keitel, Justin Bartha and Ed Harris.

Supernatural: One Conundrum may be solved early...

Thanks to BuddyTV for the Following...

One of the over arcing issues for the Winchester brothers as they enter Supernatural season 3 is the deal that turned the hour glass on Dean's life. If left unresolved, Dean has to die. Naturally, this little problem is going to an imperative to the story. But, when, and how Dean (Jensen Ackles) can escape from the bargain is not known, yet. Some recent spoilers, on the other hand, suggest that the resolution have some sometime early in the first half of Supernatural's third season. Spoilers ahead.

In the episode “Bedtime Stories,” set to debut in November, Sam will take up the cause to reverse Dean's deal when he confronts the crossroads demon and tries to barter a release. The crossroads demon has an interesting reason for denying the request, it turns out the demon doesn't have the authority. Sam (Jared Padalecki) will shot the crossroads demon's human host after he learns that there is higher up pulling her strings.

This could equate, in some degree, to the endgame of the season. If the demon is one of those released during last seasons finale, no diversion would be necessary to track it down, and the confrontation could make for a heck of cliff hanger with Dean's life hanging in the balance.

On the speculative side of things, it would not be surprising at all to see Dean actually die before the finale ends, leaving significant buzz over whether or not the character would return in the subsequent season. That kind of buzz could be helpful if Supernatural finds itself sitting on the bubble once again.

Of course, it would not at all be surprising for this issue to be dealt with well in advance of the finale to allow a larger, more globally threatening end game emerge. But, that is still a long ways away. Supernatural's premiere, on the other hand, is just a little more than a month away: Thursday, October 4.

Question: Is there any hope of House getting a new love interest in the new season?— Sophia

Ausiello: Depends on how he feels about fast women, because there's a speedy one headed to Princeton-Plainsboro. An upcoming patient-of-the-week story will revolve around a Danica Patrick-esque NASCAR driver. In a separate episode, House will tend to a patient with a craniofacial deformity à la Eric Stoltz in Mask.

CSI: Ask Ausiello...

Question: I saw in a CBS press release that CSI: NY's Anna Belknap is now listed as a recurring cast member and not a series regular. Is this accurate? What happened?— Grace

Ausiello: That was, in fact, a big fat typo. A CBS rep assures me that Anna remains a series regular.

Question: The "tantalizing," "dream-team," "high-life" opportunity that Alan Rosenberg’s character will offer Catherine on CSI this season smells like a spin-off to me (Ask Ausiello 8/22)! And a decent one, too. Your thoughts?— Petra Sander

Ausiello: Stranger things have happened. Not sure what they'd call it, though. CSI: Law & Order, perhaps? (That one was just for you, Keri Anne.)

Gilmore Girls: Latest from Ausiello...

Question: I feel like you're hiding some Gilmore Girls movie news from us. Release the scooplets!— Stephanie

Ausiello: Curses, foiled again! It's true: I have a little scoopbit I've been sitting on and the secret's been eating up my insides! Melissa McCarthy (aka Sookie) told me way back during the July press tour that she's open to the idea of a Gilmore Girls reunion movie, although she conceded, "I'm always a little sketchy about the whole reunion-movie thing. But Amy's such a good writer that she could write something and I'll be like, "I'll be damned, it's really good!" McCarthy acknowledged that the series finale felt a smidge rushed. "I don't think they ended it how they would've ended it [had they been given more time]. There was a lot of talk about an eighth season. But I think the writers did a great job considering it was so last-minute. I thought it was really good that it ended with [Lorelai and Rory] reconnecting. I think that's what people wanted. I would've hated to see the show go out on a sad note." Interesting factoid: Had the show returned for an eighth season, Sookie would've been MIA — save for a possible guest appearance or two. Unlike the rest of the cast, most of whom were onboard for Season 8, McCarthy had already committed to Samantha Who? on ABC. I assumed, as I think everyone else did, that Samantha was in "second position" behind Gilmore, but that was not the case.

Lost: Latest from Ausiello...

Question: Gasp! I love you, Michael, but I'm extremely worried about you. You wasted your energy answering two questions about One Tree Hill in last week's column, and you didn't even mention Lost once! I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.— Nora

Ausiello: Imagine how I felt. I haven't had a decent night's sleep since that column ran last Wednesday. The good news? Order has been restored to the universe and, to prove it, here's a little Lost prattle: As you know, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Rob McElhenney did a small role last season as an Other. Well, here's what you don't know: The scene where Julie rifle-butted him in the head was not the last we were supposed to see of him. He was slated to appear in the May finale in some kind of big Others scene, but he was unavailable due to his Philadelphia sked. If I had a gambling problem, I'd bet my firstborn that we'll see him again.

Brothers & Sisters: Ask Ausiello...

Question: It was great meeting you at Big Daddy's Diner on Saturday night! Got any scoop on Brothers & Sisters for me?— Mike

Ausiello: Nice meeting you, too! Unlike the Brangelinas of the world, I love getting stalked by fans. I especially like it when I'm with friends and/or family, because, well, what's the fun of being the center of all that attention if no one's there to witness it? As far as B&S scoop goes (Spoiler alert), Joe and Sarah's amicable divorce will take an ugly turn when Joe makes a surprising 11th-hour demand related to the children.

Ausiello: The show is introducing a hunky young foreign ice-hockey player who will be playing for Ben's newly acquired hockey team. And in his downtime, he'll be making eyes at Annie.

Prison Break: Latest from Ausiello...

Question: Do you happen to know in which episode Sarah Wayne Callies returns to Prison Break?— Isabelle

Ausiello: Sarah Wayne Callies or Dr. Sara Tancredi? I'm not sure when Sarah Wayne Callies is back — Spoiler alert! — but Sara Tancredi makes a blink-and-you-missed-her cameo in the season premiere. It's also worth noting that Callies' name has disappeared from the opening credits. Her manager, however, assures me that her client is "returning to Prison Break this season."

Question: I think I’m entitled to a little Prison Break scoop!— Amy Lyn

Ausiello: (Spoiler alert) Mahone's going to do something very out of character in the premiere: *a** *i****'s **fe. And in Episode 2, Linc turns to an old friend to help break Michael out of that hellhole of a prison.

Friday Night Lights: Latest from Ausiello...

Question: What you got for me on Friday Night Lights?— Naomi

Ausiello: I've got conflicting stories, that's what I've got. My Texas mole tells me that Tim, Jason and Lyla take a road trip to Mexico around Episode 5, and, while there, one of them fantasizes about a possible (pausing for dramatic effect) threesome. A source at NBC, however, calls this whole thing hogwash, insisting that the only thing that's accurate about my mole's report is the trio's trip to Mexico. Damn. For a second there I thought the show had a shot of doing a 10 share.

Grey's Anatomy: Latest from Ausiello...

Ausiello: Since Burke's never coming back, Shonda Rhimes went and got the next best thing: his mama! Yep, Diahann Carroll's returning in this season's second episode when she shows up at Seattle Grace to get that choker back from Cristina. Needless to say, her return is shocking — and potentially clarifying — for Yang. It's also funny as hell. In fact, I hear the entire episode is high-sterical. There's also apparently some great stuff with Chandra Wilson as Bailey struggles with no longer being the boss lady.

Question: There's a rumor going around that there's a big Mer-Der sex scene set in a shower in Grey's third episode. True?— Danny

Ausiello: False… although the word "bathroom" is uttered at least once in the episode.

Question: Have you heard anything about Edward Herrmann's character on Grey's Anatomy?— Siobhan

Ausiello: I hear Grandpa Gilmore's playing the world's oldest intern.

Desperate Housewives: Season 4 Pictures...

House: Sneak Peek...

What happens when you have 40 medical-fellowship candidates competing for three coveted staff jobs at one famous hospital? If you're Dr. House (Hugh Laurie), you let them battle it out reality-show style until every last ounce of their dignity is gone.

Season 4 of the Emmy-winning Fox series kicks off Sept. 25 with House putting a gaggle of fellows to the test just to watch them squirm (he even makes them wear numbers). "It's classic House sadistic behavior," says executive producer David Shore. "No other character on TV — aside from maybe that guy on Survivor — could get away with hiring practices like these."

Over eight episodes, House will winnow down the group of fellows with his usual grace and sensitivity — which is to say, expect him to be a heartless boor. "At one point House just fires the entire back of the room," says Peter Jacobson (The Starter Wife), who plays a Park Avenue plastic surgeon hoping to bring fresh meaning to his life. "Boom, gone! Except one woman he thinks is hot."

The side effect, of course, is that House gets a new cast of characters. Olivia Wilde (The Black Donnellys), who plays a fellow House can't quite figure out, says, "With new people being eliminated each week, we half-expect Ryan Seacrest to pop out and say, 'If you like No. 13, text 13 to.... '"

Other candidates are played by Kal Penn (24), "who thinks the whole game-show thing is cool," Shore says; and Edi Gathegi (Lincoln Heights), who plays a black Mormon.

What's funny is there really is a competition to become a permanent member of House's team. "We're adding another couple actors to the regular cast and we haven't figured out who they'll be yet, so we figured we'll do it this way," Shore says. "We think House would definitely approve."

Nip/Tuck: Latest from Kristin...

Priya in Olancha, California: When's Nip/Tuck returning?
The fifth season premieres Oct. 23, and I’ve got some major news: Julia and her new girlfriend (played by Ms. Portia de Rossi)—yes, I said girlfriend—will be the victims of a violent crime this year. I’m hearing the pair is kidnapped, sexually assaulted and left to deal with the emotional ramifications of the event for many episodes to come. So, yeah, just another happy-go-lucky season of N/T in store for you, for which you will need therapy afterward.

Jericho: Latest from Kristin...

Frankie in Hollywood, Florida: I haven't heard much about Jericho lately. It's still coming back, right?

Yep. They're in production as we speak, and are looking to add a new recurring character to the cast. Rumor has it a guy by the name of Barsotti will work for Goetz at the Ravenwood organization as a trained soldier. He's a potentially dangerous kind of guy who gets things done.

Grey's Anatomy: Latest from Kristin...

Jackson in Wyoming: Okay, girl, dish it! You said you’d spill in the chat about the line at the end of the first episode of Grey’s that shocked you...You'd better not forget!

Like I would! It is burned into my brain! That line is “I love you, too.” And although a year ago, the thought of this storyline may have made me squee, I personally am not really happy about who says it and to whom—as a recently married woman and all. Lost: Latest from Kristin...

Thomas in Dallas: Any word on Lost? I can’t wait to see new episodes!
We still don’t get new eps until February (a little fact that makes me sob uncontrollably every time I hear it). However! The coolest cast around just went back to work last week in Oahu, and I’m hearing very good things about the new season! Michael is back, the Losties we love are front and center and the storylines are tighter than, well, I’d say Josh Holloway’s backside but, sheesh, I’m a married woman.

Ginny in Ipswich, Massachusetts: Will there be any cast changes this season on Lost?
Aside from the newbies we announced last week (much thanks to Korbi for that scoop!), Entertainment Weekly is now reporting that Grindhouse’s Jeff Fahey will join the island crew this year. I can also tell you that, although I had heard a while back that we’d be seeing a little less of Matthew Fox this season, so far there are no signs of any “Jack-off” days on the production schedule (sorry, I couldn’t resist, I’m 12). So, we’ll see.

Heroes: More on Kensei...

Can't wait for Season 2 of Heroes? Hardcore addicts can get a quick fix right now with Sword Saint, a new five-part NBC Web series that's currently streaming on YamagatoFellowship.org.

"It's a fake documentary — actually it's more like a Ken Burns mockumentary — that explores the legend of Takezo Kensei," says Heroes creator Tim Kring, referring to the iconic samurai whom Hiro (Masi Oka) will encounter this fall in 17th-century Japan. "Like Burns, we use academic professors, only ours are actors, and they share their historical insight against a background of paintings, tapestries and graphics. It's a chance to dig a little deeper into the new season. Part of the social currency our fans trade on is their knowledge of the show, and this is a fun, cool way to know a lot more than the next guy."

Narrated by John Rhys-Davies (of The Lord of the Rings, Sliders and the Indiana Jones flicks), the series unfolds in three- to four-minute installments. It follows the super-swordsman as he takes on a number of Herculean labors — battling snake women, climbing a massive frozen waterfall, single-handedly defeating 90 cannibals, that sort of thing — in order to find and slay White Beard, a Genghis Khan-wannabe who is trying to conquer Japan. In an über-operatic climax, Kensei cuts out his own heart in order to save the princess he loves. These stories were told to Hiro as a child by his father, the powerful Kaito Nakamura (George Takei).

When Heroes returns Sept. 24, Kensei will be played by former Alias star David Anders, who, last time we checked, was still Caucasian. But this is not some politically incorrect casting mess. "I promise you'll get the scoop behind this in the season premiere," says Kring. "We're going to reveal why — contrary to legend — Kensei is not Japanese."

Heroes: Another New Preview...

Here's Another New Preview of Season 2 Heroes...

Heroes: New Preview...

Here's a New Preview of Seaosn 2 of Heroes...

Heroes: Writers on Season 2...

Thanks to Ain't It Cool for the following...

Tuesday brings the highly anticipated release of “Heroes” on DVD, with its huge collection of deleted scenes and commentaries and the show’s original supersized pilot. (Look for more on these in tomorrow’s HercVault.)

In celebration, Wizard Magazine has produced its own episode-by-episode “season one commentary” assembling new interviews with the series’ writers and cast.

A few highlights (BEWARE SPOILERS):

* “The eclipse is one of those secrets that we’ll hold onto,” writer-producer Jesse Alexander tells Wizard. “I wouldn’t be surprised if Season 2 started with an eclipse. There’s a scientific and spiritual significance for the eclipse to the specific ‘Heroes’ storyline.”

* While artist Tim Sale usually created Isaac’s prophetic paintings from screen-shots of already completed scenes, this was apparently not the case with the early painting depicting Claire’s first confrontation with Sylar. “I remember having to hit the perfect turn for this pose that [Tim Sale] had me in, which was not the most comfortable thing,” confesses Hayden Panetierre.

* Jessica was apparently not always Niki’s dead sister, explains writer-producer Aron Eli Coleite.

* Kring knew from the beginning that Claire was Peter’s niece, and was a little creeped out that some saw the duo as a potential romantic pairing. “Just internally here, there were a lot of people who were like, ‘We’ve got to get them together.’”

* “I would pay some attention to [moppet mutant-finder] Molly Walker and what she represents as an important clue as to where [Season 2] is going,” Kring tells Wizard. “That’ll be revealed pretty much in the season opener, but this idea that Molly Walker and Suresh’s [Sendhil Ramamurthy] sister had similar ailments is a key part of where this story is going in the second season."

* Writer Jeph Loeb says the unseen supervillain -- the one Molly says is worse than Sylar -- "will be dealt with right in the first episode of Season 2."

Heroes: Latest from Kristin...

Francis in Washington D.C.: Heroes! Give us the scoop! Didn’t Kristen Bell come to your wedding? Then you have to know her power, right!?

All I know is that at the wedding, Kristen and I had a giddy-good time dancing to some silly overplayed wedding song that was some kind of “slide” or something...What kind of slide was it again? Oh yeah, it was “Electric!” If you do it with me now, I might tell you more...Line up, please!

Noah in Miami: I’m confused about the death scoop you gave on Heroes. Who is dying?

Well, let me come right out and tell you that and then call my loved ones and tell them I love them before Tim Kring sics Sylar on my ass. What I’m saying is...I can’t name names. However, here are the facts I can spill:

* There is a series regular from last season who is no longer a part of the cast and as far as I know is not coming back.
* There is a series regular from last season who is presumed dead, but is not.
* There are two popular and important recurring characters who appear to be totally and completely doomed, and at least one of them will die within the first two episodes.

Helena in Eugene, Oregon: What is Kristen Bell’s power in Heroes?

If you did the "Electric Slide" with me and still don’t get it, I will tell you that Kristen’s power is electricity. I’m also hearing that Kristen might be doing some kind of scene with Masi/Hiro in the past, but honestly, that makes no sense whatsoever to me based on everything else I’ve heard.

ER: Latest from Kristin...

Greg in Denver: Any news on ER? It's still must-see TV for me!
New interns for everybody! First on Grey's, then on Scrubs, and now on ER. ER is looking for a young (like late teens) actor to play Neela's new intern, Harold Zelinsky. He's a Doogie Howser-style genius, but he's about as sensitive as Barney Stinson. He wants Neela to explain how sex works, so he steals an anatomically correct model of girlie parts from the lab and follows her around with it, asking her to point out the relevant structures. Smooth he is not. Also, Gates may be making eyes at the hospital chaplain. Sacrilegious is the new sexy.

And who plays these parents? Ernie Hudson and Phylicia Rashad! How cool is that?

In episode four of the Grey's spinoff, Private Practice, Tim Daly's character, Dr. Pete Finch, shows up Addison (Kate Walsh) when he magically cures a patient of hers who was unable to have sex due to a medical condition—and chances are Dr. Feelgood has a cure for what ails Addy's sex life as well. Big Love: Latest from Kristin...

JaneSP in Cape Coral, Florida: Friday Night Lights is my favorite show. Do you have any information on the next season? I'm dying to hear what will come next.

Word is, Tami's cute younger sister flies into Dillon this year, and we get to know her quite well. She's in her early 30s, works as a teacher and sometimes moonlights as a counselor for battered women. Apparently, she's very cool and could spice things up for Mrs. Taylor, though she'll probably skip town before getting too comfortable. Also, producers are bringing two new gals to Dillon High, both of whom date a Panther boy somewhat seriously this season.

Neil in Northfield, New Jersey: None of my friends watch Big Love, and they are so missing out. Last night when I saw Ana and Bill go at it in the pantry, I was like, Oh my God! I really want Ana to be fourth wife, 'cause I love the chemistry among her, Bill and Margene.

You're not the only one! Though it might drive Barb right out the door, it would certainly make for lots of season-three excitement. Let me put it this way: We haven't seen the last of Ms. Ana. Unless Branka Katic, the actress who plays her, disappears from the face of the earth, she'd better be on that Big Love set come production time!

Brothers & Sisters: Latest from Kristin...

A custody battle takes place early on in the season between Sarah and her ex-husband, Joe, when he requests full custody of their children. Other B&S scoop: Senator McCallister is part of the Republican primary debate, in which the other candidates attack him because of Kitty's more liberal views.

Lisa from Chicago: What's coming up for Tommy on Brothers & Sisters?
Balthazar tells me: "This year, [Tommy] is trying to be his father and re-create this male figure in the family who runs the business, has the wife and kids and is a success in all areas. Cameron Diaz and Bradley Copper Dating...

Be still my beating Bradley Cooper-loving heart.

Sources close to Bradley and Cameron Diaz tell me that the two have been dating the past couple weeks. Pretty adorable, no?

Bradley's rep insists that it is "not true" that the two are dating. However, insiders tell me that Cameron and Bradley have been busy sending flirty text messages to each other throughout the day and spending quite a bit of time together.

This news comes on the heels of rumors in recent months regarding Cam's post-Justin love life, including rumblings that she was romantically tied to Criss Angel, David de Rothschild and John Mayer. (Cameron turns 35 this Thursday.)

Bradley, 32, filed for divorce from his wife of four months, Jennifer Esposito, in May. He is currently working on a movie with Sandra Bullock called All About Steve (he is Steve) and also scored a leading role in He's Just Not That into You.

A big A-list movie career and an A-list movie-star flirtation? Alias fans, I do believe our wittle Will Tippin is all growed up!

Bones: Fire on Set...

Everyone is okay. That's the important thing to tell you before reporting that a fire broke out on the set of Bones this morning, after a piece of electrical equipment appeared to ignite a piece of material nearby.

Though the show's Fox rep couldn't be reached for comment, a source on set tells me a production assistant doused the flames before any major damage occurred or anyone was injured.

Production is already back up and running this afternoon, as the cast and crew shoot the new season's upcoming Halloween episode, for which I'm told David Boreanaz and the rest of the gang are wearing costumes.

We always knew David and Emily's chemistry was hot—right, Bones fans? Well, now we have further proof!

Lost: More on the New Character [Jeff Fahey]...

Lost has secured the talents of yet another intense screen presence. Entertainment Weekly broke the news today that Jeff Fahey (The Lawnmower Man, Psycho 3, Grindhouse) will be joining the cast in a role that is, according to producers, a custom fit for the actor. Known in his early career for his piercing blue eyes and chiseled physique, Fahey has become more of a menacing screen presence with his weathered good looks and gruff elocution. Like so many of Lost's recent additions, Fahey exhibits this sort of coiled tension. He can be a very scary man.

Still in ‘radio silence,' Lost producers were unusually talkative when it came to the why of Fahey's casting, but mum is still the word on how the actor's character will fit into the story. This is not to say that Fahey's character necessarily has the mystique of recent castee Ken Leung's alleged top-secret character – according to TV Guide's Michael Ausiello - just a general dose of the usual ‘you'll have to wait five months like everyone else' steadfastness.

“Fahey is one of those actors who feels like he fits into the Lost model: He's enormously talented and will be vaguely recognizable to some people, but he'll be able to land on our island without most people going, 'Oh, I know who that guy is.' And especially for the part we cast him for, he has exactly the right sensibilities.'' Damon Lindelof told Entertainment Weekly.

Casting scoops have become the mainstay of a Lost fan's info diet lately, and that is not going to change anytime soon. When will the silence end? Just a guess, but with the release of the Lost season 3 box set in Decemberish, it would not be surprising to see some light discussion of the upcoming season begin to percolate through the veil of silence.

Entertainment Weekly did state in its article that this week may bring some additional thoughts from the producers on the other new actors joining the cast. That gives Lost fans a couple of days to pick up ‘The Secret' and start working on manifesting a desire for Lost's sultans to cut loose with some tidbits. It might work. Oprah said so.

Prison Break: More On Lane Garrison...

On the hit FOX show Prison Break, David Apolskis, aka Tweener, was sent to Fox River Prison for grand larceny. A skilled thief and pickpocket, police found a valuable baseball card collection that was stolen in his house which became his demise. In real life, the actor who plays him, Lane Garrison, entered a prison of his own today and he won't be breaking out of this one.

Last year, Garrison was driving his SUV when he lost control, killing a teenage passenger and injuring the other teens in the car. At the time of the accident, his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit and he tested positive for cocaine. At his trial, he plead guilty to vehicular manslaughter, drunken driving, and providing alcohol to a minor.

According to his lawyer, Harland Braun, on Friday, Garrison entered the California Institute for Men to undergo a court ordered 90-day psychiatric evaluation. Garrison's stay in prison will end on October 31, when he will head back to court. There, Judge Elden S. Fox will decide if he will be eligible for probation. He could potentially serve up to six years and eight months in jail.

Prior to entering the all male correctional facility, Garrison had been held at the L.A. Men's Central Jail. His new home holds 6,500 men and is known for being a tough place to serve time. Known simply as "Chino" for its location in Chino, CA, the prison has had many pop culture references over the years including the movies American History X, The Big Lebowski, and songs by Snoop Dogg.

There may not be a prison break from "Chino" but he should beware of rioting inmates. Last December, around the time of the accident, a riot left over 50 inmates injured. Another riot this past March injured two more.

Grey's Anatomy: Season 4 Rumours...

Thanks to ABC Forums for the following...

Hey people!

This is the latest that I've heard:

1) Meredith gets territorial over Derek, which amuses him to no end. By episode three, he's back at her place. And yes, there is sex. Shower sex.

2) Callie finds out about Gizzie in episode three which is aptly called 'Let the Truth Sting'. What she doesn't know is that George has made it very clear to Izzie that he loves his wife (he says it in the premiere. Izzie tells him that she's upset that she told him that she loves him and takes him to task for not saying anything back. George flashes back to the time that Callie said the exact same (almost) at the Prom and then looks at Izzie and says, "I love --- my wife. I love my wife, Izzie. She's Callie O'Malley and she's my wife." and walks away).

3) In episode four, Callie is dealing with Gizzie, dealing with a problem patient, and trying to avoid George. She winds up blowing a gasket at the patient's fiance and Alex overhears it. You are not going to believe this ... but Callie and Alex have sex. They talk a little about Addison being gone and Gizzie and then they just look at each other and throw down. It's HOT.

4) Cristina fights off the advances of a female intern in episode four. She's been throwing herself full tilt into the whole Resident thing and refuses to talk about Burke. The girl who likes her is Hispanic and makes several comments that are sexual.

5) Bailey takes Callie to task for everything she does until Callie has to set Bailey's son's arm and then they bond over the fact that Callie's marriage is as broken as Baby William's arm. Bailey decides to help her out.

Random things:

Despite reports to the contrary, Lexie very much wants a good, healthy relationship with Meredith and actually feels bad that Thatcher abandoned her. Lexie flirts with Alex and McSteamy, but it's pretty harmless. She's more concerned with being Meredith's friend.

Webber gets back together with his wife and remains Chief, but he agrees to reduce his hours which means that Derek assumes a sort of "part time" Chief thing. It's weird, but Shonda-land is weird.

Unconfirmed claims:

Callie finds out that she is pregnant this season, but doesn't know if it belongs to Alex or George.

Desperate Housewives: Season 4 Promo...

Desperate Housewives: Season 4 Behind the Scenes...

Behind the scenes...

Bones: 3.06- "Intern in the Incinerator"...

Tyler Neville - A co-worker of the murder victim, Kristen Reardon. Both worked in the authentication department at the Jeffersonian, and were competing for a prestigious prize called the Bates Fellowship. When questioned he did not know who Kristen was dating, , but she told him that he would be surprised when he found out. Booth hints that Tyler may have been jealous, but Tyler informs him that he is gay (ouch!)

Phil and Nick - Two janitors in the Jeffersonian. Nick alerted Phil to the black smoke billowing out of the incinerator, and Phil informs him that the smoke goes black sometimes when animals wander in or the doctors dump them in. Phil remarks that the odor is like that of roasted pork - but they definitely DO NOT find a pig in there. They find the body of Kristen Reardon charred.

Felicia Saroyan - Cam's sister, and oh is there sibling rivalry. I'm not going to give to many details because this is actually hysterical. Basically, Cam never told her family that she and Booth broke up because she was afraid she would never live it down - but that doesn't stop Felicia from kissing him. Let's just say hilarity ensues and siblings bond - at Booth's expense.

Dr Ted Reardon and Dr. Kyle Aldridge - Reardon is Kristen's father, and Aldridge we find out was Kristen's lover. However, that's not the only cause of strain between the two men - Aldridge was instrumental in helping Bancroft unseat Reardon from power at the Jeffersonian. Aldridge is a bit of an intellectual snob who tries to undermine the investigators by playing "I am smarter than thou". It doesn't work when he realizes that they know about his affair with Kristen and consider him a suspect. While Booth makes Brennan interrogate Aldridge, he sits with Reardon who is watching the interrogation. Reardon is furious over the fact that Aldridge seems to be getting away with killing his daughter, and says that there is no punishment bad enough for him. Later, when Aldridge is found murdered, Reardon becomes a double suspect. Booth suspected him before, being so furious at his daughter for sleeping with his political enemy, and is even more suspicious when the method used to murder Aldridge is traceless = Reardon wrote a book about a compound whose use as a poison could not be traced.

Dr. Harlan Bancroft - Head of the Jeffersonian and the man who masterminded Reardon's ouster. While he promises complete cooperation with the investigation, there's still something about him that Booth does not trust. Later, when Cam, Angela, and Zack are piecing together Kristen's murder which explains how copper was found in her body and also a wound in Aldridge and is accidental Bancroft enters. When the investigators wonder why Aldridge would not have admitted what happened if it were accidental, Bancroft tells them that Aldridge wouldn't have spoken until he spoke to the top, and since Aldridge had requested a meeting with the in-house counsel of the Jeffersonian he believed he was going to do so. Bancroft leaves them with a bizzare "be careful" and informs Angela that if HE were the killer she would be next. Angela and the gang take his words as a threat.

Dr. Evan Klimkew - Not really too much there. He was suspected by the cops but later on in the sides they decide that he was not the killer. However, he was running some kind of smuggling ring and got in some illegal artifacts.

Heroes: Kensei Mythology...

Heroes has turned to a bit of cinema – or is that web – verite in introducing a chunk of its season 2 mythology. The creators have set up a very authentic looking website devoted to the history of the character Takezo Kensei (David Anders), who Hiro (Masi Oka) came face to face with after his emergency blink out during the Heroes season 1 finale landed him smack dab in the middle of feudal Japan.

The site, which is sponsored by Hiro's father Kaito Nakamura (George Takei, who appears on the site's videos), is a collection of information related to the history of Kensei, amongst others. There is some definitive information that reveals, through the lens of mythology, that Kensei very likely did have powers. What those powers are, however, remains a mystery.

TV Guide is reporting that the website, yamagatofellowship.org, will feature a documentary featuring actors playing academics, studying the implications of several paintings that depict Kensei's heroics.

Heroes creator Tim Kring told TV Guide “…we use academic professors, only ours are actors, and they share their historical insight against a background of paintings, tapestries and graphics. It's a chance to dig a little deeper into the new season. Part of the social currency our fans trade on is their knowledge of the show, and this is a fun, cool way to know a lot more than the next guy."

One bit of controversy over Kensei is the fact that the actor playing him is a Caucasian with blond hair and blue eyes. The question of whether or not Anders would be wearing makeup to fill the role of the Japanese character seems to be answered in TV Guide's article. "I promise you'll get the scoop behind this in the season premiere, we're going to reveal why — contrary to legend — Kensei is not Japanese." Kring said.

Heroes returns September 24th.

Lost: Concert...

Lost fans in Hawaii will be given a rare treat when the shows soundtrack composer Michael Giacchino and star Terry O'Quinn join the Honolulu Symphony for a concert performance of the show's haunting and dynamic score. Giacchino will provide the score while O'Quinn, who plays John Locke on Lost, will read passages over the symphony. The Lost score has been an integral part of the show's immerse nature. It raises and falls with the emotional cues, and emphasizing the beauty, mystery, and danger of the island in an organic way that fuses with the story-telling nature of Lost.

Giacchino's score has resulted in a mantle full of awards including an Emmy, BMI, and two ASCAP awards. The majority of the composer's early work was done for the video game industry which eventually lead to higher profile gigs with J.J. Abrams on Alias, and since then becoming a composer of choice at Pixar.

Star Wars is credited for awakening the composer within a young Giacchino. In the biographical section of the Honolulu Symphony's press release, they say “He remembers listening to the Star Wars soundtrack as a kid, and being completely amazed at the way the music was telling a story. It was an instant awakening as to what the various instruments of an orchestra could accomplish.”

If you're lucky enough to be a local, tickets to the event range from $36 to $94, and more information can be found at www.honolulusymphony.com for the September 22 event. If you're stateside, you'll have to endure a little jet lag to catch the event, providing it isn't an instant sell out.

The scores for both Lost season 1 and Lost season have been released on the Varese Sarabande label on high quality CDs that capture the full range of Giacchino's powerful scores. No details on a season 3 disc have been released, yet.

Kid Nation: CBS Stands by...

CBS' fall reality series Kid Nation continues to have a shadow cast over it, as the attorney general in New Mexico, where the show was taped, reviews complaints raised by at least one tyke's parent and the question of whether state child-labor laws were exploited. In a statement cited by Variety, CBS maintains that Kid Nation — in which unsupervised rugrats ate let loose in a ghost town — "was filmed responsibly and within all applicable laws... at the time of the production." (At the time being the key words, as New Mexico has since modified the number of hours a minor can work in such a production.) The legal hiccup does not yet seem a threat to Kid Nation's Sept. 19 premiere.

Desperate Housewives: First Look on the New Family...

A new family is moving to Wisteria Lane this fall, but not everyone's rolling out a welcome mat. Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delany) lived on the block 12 years ago with her daughter, Dylan (Lyndsy Fonseca), and aunt, Mrs. Sims (Ellen Geer), but left under mysterious circumstances. Now she's back with her teenage daughter and her second husband, Adam (Nathan Fillion), a hunky gynecologist. Ostensibly, they returned to take care of the dying Mrs. Sims, but like all new characters on Desperate Housewives, the Mayfairs harbor a dark secret that will be revealed as the season progresses. Says creator Marc Cherry: "They had to leave Chicago because something unsavory happened in Adam's professional life."

Katherine's a perfectionist and a control freak. (Think Bree, but much darker.) She's reviled by all Wisterians — particularly Bree, who by Episode 2 will go spatula to spatula with her over a lemon meringue pie recipe. "I always wanted to come up with a character everyone loves to hate," Cherry says, adding that he modeled Katherine after J.R. from Dallas and Amanda from Melrose Place. Through flashbacks, Katherine will also offer viewers a chance to look into Wisteria Lane's lurid past.

Ironically, Delany was originally offered the part of Bree, but Cherry says she turned it down three times. "I'd just done Pasadena, and it seemed too similar," Delany says. "It's very rare in life you get second chances. I'm really flattered and honored."

Also thanking the Hollywood gods is Fillion, who's still recovering from the flat tire that was Fox's Drive. "My manager asked, ‘If someone were to tell you that you could be any kind of doctor on Wisteria Lane, what kind would you be?' " he recalls. "I said I'd be a gynecologist so I could interact with all the women."

Fillion won't say whether this "interaction" will involve any illicit affairs. He will tell us that his medical expertise may play a big part in a storyline. "One might extrapolate [that] if there is an OB-GYN around, someone may have need," he says. Paging Bree's pregnant daughter Danielle?

At the bottom of the Mayfair family tree is Dylan. She's a goody-goody — cute, polite and well trained. "My mom keeps me on a rigorous schedule and a short leash," Fonseca explains. "Almost like a dog." She also suffers from a bit of memory loss. Twelve years ago, she was BFFs with Susan's daughter, Julie, until her mom decided to skip town. Now she doesn't remember a thing, leaving everyone to suspect that something horrific happened in her childhood.

She did grow up on Wisteria Lane, after all.

Aidan Quinn, who was last seen in the anti-7th Heaven drama Book of Daniel, has joined the cast of FOX's Canterbury's Law, which stars Juliana Margulies. He will have a recurring role as Matt Furey, husband to Marguiles' character. Elizabeth Canterbury.

Now, if you have seen a preview of the show on the FOX website you're probably saying to yourself 'Wait, doesn't she have a husband already?'. Well, yes. It's Matthew Canterbury, played by Linus Roache. Only Linus, the show's producers and FOX broadcasting know the reasons for the re-casting. So goes television.

I don't know what Canterbury's husband previously did, but Quinn's character will be a former Assistant U.S. Attorney who decided to teach law after his and Elizabeth's young son went missing several years ago. Along the way he may have conversations with Jesus. Oh, sorry, wrong show. Canterbury's Law will premiere mid-season.

Prison Break: Danay Gracia Interview...

Since you are going to be in season 3 of "Prison Break" have you watched the show before?

I can honestly say that I don’t watch TV. I feel very fortunate to be part of Prison Break. This is like a dream job for me!

How was the casting for "Prison Break"?

Well the audition was very interesting to me. I was very confused because the producers kept giving me different characters scenes. I would be playing a scene from Lincoln and another day a scene from Sara. I didn’t know if I was good or bad. The funny part of all this is when I finally met the writers and we talked about Sofia they kept telling me that she was very naive. I said I disagreed because in one of the scenes I am killing somebody. They all started laughing. They gave me different characters to see different levels of me. Interesting right!!

What character will you play on the show? And what’s her story?

My character’s name is Sofia. Sofia is the girlfriend to one of the prisoner’s. She fights to get him out because she is the reason why he is in jail. He was defending her. It’s a beautiful love story between the two characters. Lincoln and Sofia become a team to rescue Michael and Whistler (my boyfriend).

What else can you tell us about season 3?

Season 3 is going to be very different. It will take place in Panama. It will have the Latin flavor. I am very excited.

Besides "Prison Break" have you any other projects you can tell us about?

I am putting 100% of my energy into the show. I am not working on any other projects at the moment.

CSI-Miami: Episode 6 Details...

Here is the Plot and Character Details thanks to SpoilerTV:

Ronnie Temple: On a sunny Miami day we see a scene of people lounging by the pool. Then, there is a solar eclipse. Ronnie's murderer takes advantage of all the people averting their eyes so as not so see the sun and puts a cord around Ronnie's neck. He is chiked so hard that the cord cuts into his skin. We later learn that Ronnie was a meth dealer and also dealt in something called "wolf hormone" - some hormone secreted by wolves as the name suggests. He obviously took the meth himslef, because when Alxx goes to do the autopsy the gas is still in his stomach. When her scalpel cuts in and releases the gas there is a small explosion that knocks her out. We also learn that there was a small, donut shaped diamond in his wound.

Diana - Another victim killed in the exact same way as Ronnie. It seems that Diana was a recluse who lived, did her business, and even socialized on the computer. She never really left her house, even going so far as to hire an errand service to make small purchases such as a diet coke and basic food items. One of the doctors refers to her as a "Mouse Potato". According to Clint Gimore, there was something odd about her order the night she was killed - she actually ordered food for two. When he arrived, he found her dead. As a sad statement to the way she lived, no one had reported her missing or even came and claimed the body. (Makes you want to stop reading this and go run around the block. Go on, go ahead. It'll still be here when you get back. Promise!)

Tiffany and Amber - two girls lounging by the pool. Their conversation has all the intellectual depth that their names imply and there's really no plot relevence.

Clint Gilmore- A young 20 ish man ho works for "Take-In Delivery Service". They deliver whatever you want to your door. Diana was one of his best clients. (Note: First interview with Horatio is in the Diana summary). In the second interview, Clint is dressed very warmly for the weather, and he explains that his father died of skin cancer so he does everything he can to hide himself from the sun. From the best I can gather from the sides, Clint's fingerprints place him at the scene of two of the three murders. Not only did he know Diana, but he also knew and delivered the "wolf hormone" to Mario Morales. Clint denied involvement in the killings.

Mario Morales - Brought in under suspicion since his blood was found at the scene of Ronnie's murder. However, when they examine his DNA, they find something very interesting - he contains marker consistent with wolves and not completely human. Mario tells the cops that he is a werewolf - and even has the nickname "Lobo" (wolf in Spanish). After Ronnie was killed, Mario ran into his cabana and stole his "stash" so as not to be without the drugs. Mario is arrested, but a major corporation posts his bail. When Natalia and Delko go to his apartment they find two things - a chained wolf and a dead Mario who was killed in the same manner as Ronnie and Diana.

Shawn Pratt - A young man who works by the pool where Ronnie was killed. His ID was found next to Ronnie's body, and when they examine his palms they see lines consistent with the way Ronnie died. They also found his hair at Mario's murder scene. It's not explained HOW in the sides, but we find out that the cops believe that Shawn was framed.

Nicholas Pike - A sucessful nightclub owner. He is quite wealthy and as we later find out completely insane. He is completely helpful to the cops, but something about him raises Calleigh's suspicions. The trail first leads to him when they find that Diana was IMing him the night she died, and he tells them that he did talk to her via the computer and did try to meet with her since she seemed like a "real woman" and not the fembots that he met often in his clubs. However, she kept refusing. At this point the cops are completely stumped as they cannot find a common thread between all three killings. However, they do believe that the killer observed his victims, and when they look on a map at the locations of all three killings they realize that the only place with a vantage point to observe the victims is Pike's apartment building. When Horatio goes to Pike's apartment, he finds a telescope that can be programmed with locations. When he checks the locations, he finds four locations programmed - the area of the first three murders and a fourth. The cops rush to the fourth location and find Pike about the enter and kill again. When they take him down to the station, he denies it at first. Then, they point out the "gear diamond" that they found on Ronnie's body and examine his watch which is broken. Pike confesses, and gives his rationale. He was healthy and active when he was struck with a severe allergy to the sun, and he became a prisioner in his own apartment during daylight (maybe leaving Miami may have been a better idea? I'm just saying). He went crazy and bought a telescope to see the outside world, and he became fixated on certain people that he saw not fully living who COULD. So, he decided that they should die. When asked why frame Shawn Pratt, Pike saw him as the worst of them all. He layed out the chairs that they all wasted their lives on.
